It is not, that the hotel is in a beautiful spot in the vally & the architecture fits perfectly in the landscape. We were rather disappounted because there are other hotels in Bali for about half the price that are more beautiful & where you receive more value for your money. For example, the pillowcases of the chairs outside were dirty. I would expect this differently for a 5-star hotel. So, for us, the hotel is ok, but we expected just more after reading the reviews & after seeing better examples in Bali.

If we related to the name with the one of ancient place in Babylonia, maybe this is the closest place to be called similar. Huge pool, green scenery, on the best fine dining restaurant available. The gondola are willing to take you over the lobby to the magnificent pool.
Do you love selfies? yes this place is a must visit!
The villa also was huge and even the view are as magnificent as the signature mainpool.
Would definitely want to back

The hanging gardens was a absolutely stunning hotel set in the mystical treetops of the jungle, and that is what you are paying for.. Being in a location I like another. There's not many places in the world you can say you were woken up by Monkeys on my birthday.. I was!!

I have to say I didn't find it 5* it was extremely over priced and very much a funfair of people taking pool selfies (the pool is amazing) also if your planning a trip to actually see Ubud don't stay here as if your spending that amount Youl want to get the most out of it! The staff were extremely friendly and attentive I couldn't flaw that. It's very much a couples treat night somewhere special. The food is good but extremely expensive!! We stayed 2 nights and next time I would probably stay somewhere else but in glad I have seen the beautiful hanging gardens!

This place is simply stunning. The infinity pools are a brilliant photo opportunity but also good for a nice dip. Most of the villas have a private pool anyway.
We were upgraded from a riverside villa at the bottom to a jungle villa at the top as we were on our honeymoon. The room we were given exceeded our expectations and the service was impeccable. The bed was huge and luxurious. The bath and shower were large and fully functional. We even got flower petals in the bath when we arrived as part of our honeymoon extras.
We had a private 5 course meal in the middle of the infinity pool surrounded by candles and flowers arranged into hearts. The food was gourmet and to a very high standard.
The staff were all helpful and polite and happy to assist you in any way they can. The views are simply stunning.
We had a special honeymoon package at the spa. 2.5 hours long including a first rate full body massage and body scrub. Highly recommend the massage though the body scrub was painful on areas with hair, such as male legs and arms.
We were told when we arrived that we would be the last people to stay in our villa as they were being renovated and upgraded to be even more luxurious.
Breakfast was the best we had on our entire trip. Not only a decent buffet selection but also a menu to choose a cooked breakfast too. I had eggs benedict and they were poached to perfection. Our last day we left early to catch a boat and we're given a huge bag full of fruit, cakes, sandwiches and drinks as a take away breakfast. This hotel is not cheap but I had no regrets paying the prices we did.

We spent the last 3 nights of our asia holiday there. We had a panoramic villa, actually in the highest row, the view is absolutely stunning, beside nature no other noise, no other people, all very private, and they are huge. Having your own private infinity pool (beside the big one below the restaurant) is incredible, we used it every morning ...
The breakfast was great, but we wouldn't recommend the restaurant for dinner. Too expensive for what you get and there are plenty of great restaurants in Ubud. Staff is friendly and attentively. We also booked a 2.5h spa treatment which was really great and enjoyable.
In general, the price for a night is very high, actually too high especially when compared to other 5 star hotels on Bali which often provide more and better service, are cleaner and better maintained. But it seems lots of effort to maintain those 38 villas in the middle of the humid jungle.
If you decide to spend that much money to stay in a private and quite villa we recommend you take one of the panoramic villas as the other ones further down and closer to the river do not have the view and seem to be warmer and more humid ...
