Little Oliver’s is pure delight. It’s small and intimate - you never get lost amongst the other guests. Levy, the camp manager, is an outstanding host, always engaged with his guests and seeking their every comfort. The camp guides are outstanding. The depth of their knowledge is extraordinary, from animal identification to in-depth explanations of how and why things are as they are. Highly recommend a walking safari in the morning. It is good exercise and you will be humbled by both the knowledge of the guides and the ability of nature’s creatures to create and benefit from a very specific environmental niche. Said, Daoud and Penuel make an amazing team. We loved stalking the lions with them, and we felt safe every step of the way.

The complimentary laundry service is much appreciated, as is the wifi. The outdoor shower (don’t worry, there’s also an indoor one) is something truly enjoyable after a morning or afternoon of walking or driving in dust and heat. The highlight, however, is returning to camp from a game drive or walking safari, and enjoying Elese’s cooking. Whether she has prepared a deep fried vegetable canape to snack on, followed by barbecued beef and sausage or a special soup, fish and salads, meals here are the best we have enjoyed at any of the safari camps we have stayed at in Tanzania. Elise is truly a master chef!

The only negative, and it’s not so much a negative as a ‘be aware of’, is that there is only one place to plug electronics in, and it is not bedside. Also, for other women, Levy will lend you a travel blow dryer (much appreciated, Levy) but the plug is not near a mirror, so drying your hair can be a bit of an adventure.

All in all, if you are doing a safari, spend 2 or 3 nights here and enjoy the intimate, open air “tents” (don’t worry, each is private and secluded), and the pleasure of the management, staff and guides (and especially Elese’s cooking) sharing their national park with you.

Room tip: All are private. Only five guest tent suites in all. All are well situated.

We loved this camp . It’s really small and intimate . Beautifully appointed luxury tents with hot indoor and outdoor showers , fans and very comfortable beds .
The staff were incredibly friendly , helpful and attentive . Tasty , home-style cooking , not fancy, but more than adequate .
If you are coming in with a safari guide , in a closed vehicle , we suggest you pre-order an open vehicle from the camp, as the game viewing experience was really compromised by being in a closed vehicle .

Our first trip to Africa got off to a wonderful start. On our very first outing we saw more wildlife that we thought we'd see over many days. The red soil and the beautiful termite mounds were wonderful accents to our photos. The staff was terrific. The food was excellent. (We had the chef take a bow,) Our accommodations were lovely, and very comfortable. The honey badgers didn't get to any of our snacks as we kept them in the lodge safe. The sun downers behind the camp were delightful. We met folks from all over the world and greatly enjoyed the opportunity to share meals in a common room.

Room tip: All rooms were private, comfortable, clean, and an easy walk to the main lodge. They offered hot showers, inside plumbing and a mini fridge.

Cannot say enough great things about Little Oliver's Camp, Levy, camp manager, staff, and especially, our terrific guide, Stanley. The whole team made for a completely unforgettable visit to Tarangire NP. The camp itself is a diamond in the rough or should I say, "bush"! Our tent was amazing, very comfortable and spacious. The camp is located on an elevated piece of land that overlooks a river which makes for beautiful views and also plenty of animal viewing. Every meal was top notch, fully prepared lunches were provided for your safari outings and we loved that dinner was served family style, Levy and Stanley also dined with us., making it a very personal experience. Our guide Stanley was by our side from the moment we arrived and also arranged a bush walk and night drive for us, those with the day drives made for a well rounded complete safari experience. We loved every minute of our stay at Little Olivers!! Thank you, Levy, Stanley and team!
