Owner description: From downtown Gatlinburg, hop on to the 120 passenger aerial tramway for a ride to this ski area with a 600-foot vertical drop, nine beautiful trails and an amusement park complete with indoor ice skating, wildlife encounter, Alpine Slide, water rides and more.

The aerial tram although a bit crowded at times, it was fun with nice views. Price of tram reasonable. At top, most of the features are a bit expensive. Did enjoy the $ 7.00 ski lift. Nice views.

Great day with family. My twin daughters learned how to ice skate, rode the sky lift, & had lunch at the 'snack shop'.

While you can drive up Ski Mountain road to Ober Gatlinburg, riding the scenic Aerial Tram is worth the trip with great views of Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountains and your ticket is good for multiple trips all day. There is an activity park with rides for the kids, indoor ice skating rink, bear and wildlife habitat, but the most popular attractions are the scenic chairlift to Mt Harrison for outstanding views of the Appalachians, the mountain coaster, and the bobsled. A large variety of food and shops are available as well as dining and a chalet type Bar on the 2nd floor. During winter snow tubing is available, and the Ski slope offers runs for ever type of skier as well as a ski school for beginners. The rental shop provides excellent equipment and the slopes are overseen by professional members of the National Ski Patrol.
We have been in all seasons and Ober Gatlinburg continues to be a place that has something we all enjoy and can spend the day there. Tip: The views during the leaf change in October are stunning.

We almost had the limit of 120 persons in the tram, many of which didn't exactly shower before getting on board. One of the ladies had to be let off at the last minute as she became agitated with the crowd, noise and smell. Did not enjoy the ride up with all the noise you could not hear the operator. Once we arrived, there's nowhere to have views and it's basically a collection of shops, small eateries and one restaurant. The ride down was less crowded and more enjoyable but no information from the operator, Good walk from parking to the ride.

We're so sorry you did not enjoy your visit. The Aerial Tramway is one of our most popular activities, and while the cars can hold up to 120 people, we usually don't put more than 65-80 people on per trip. We do this to make the ride a little more comfortable, and to give everyone a better chance of a good view. Once you're on the mountain, consider riding the Scenic Chairlift for some amazing views - from the top of the chairlift you can see most of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee! There is also a decent view of the Great Smoky Mountains from our mountain parking lot near the viewfinders. If you do not wish to ride the Aerial Tramway, you can drive up the mountain and it's just $5.00 to park. We hope you will consider visiting us again the next time you are in the area.

Once we figured things out, it was to late.you purchase tickets for things you want to do and make sure an ask what's open. The coaster wasn't open when we were at the bottom but by the time we made it to the top it was open. There's no directions as to where things are. You basically walk around until you figure it out. You can ask of course and they are helpful but they seemed a bit short staffed so help was a little slim. We did have fun, but the prices and the waiting was just a bit pricey and way way too long.

We're so sorry you did not have a great experience. We do have two information booths, one at the downtown location and another up on the mountain, where you can ask questions and get directions. There is also a small map on the back of our brochure and several large light-up maps throughout the facilities. As far as prices, we do offer two wristband packages that can help save you some money. We hope you will consider another visit on your next trip to Gatlinburg.
