It would be easy to pass right by this and not give a second thought. Glad we were with "locals" that had been here before and recommended. We all had sandwiches since was that time of day. Mine was very tasty and everybody else raved. Prices were not too bad. The people working there (2) were very outgoing and we had an excellent time hanging out. I hear the breakfasts are excellent but did not have.

We stopped at Yak Yak's while in town visiting Grant Kohrs National Historic Site. The lady who took our order cheerfully gave us a tour of the menu and we chose the BLT and the chicken avocado sandwich. My daughter and I got the half portion because the full sandwiches are huge. They came on really good bread and the bacon was perfectly crispy.
The place is small with a casual, homey feel. Several more customers came in while we were there and the lady behind the counter served up the same welcoming conversation for each of them.

My husband and I made a round trip from Kalispell to Billings. We stopped at Yak Yak's for lunch going each way. Our waitress for the first stop there was a delightful 7-year-old girl that told us with a most serious face that she had been working in the restaurant since she was 2 1/2 months old. She gave us attentive and competent service and sparkling conversation. We both enjoyed chicken taco salads which were large and delicious. We enjoyed our time and meal so much we made a point to stop there on our way back. And we weren't disappointed. We were missing our favorite little waitress but the service and food were as excellent as the first time.

This little local cafe serves up an amazing lunch! We had sandwiches (Chicken Pig and Monte Cristina). Made up fresh with fresh ingredients. Portion size is large! Order half or you’ll be wanting a take home box. Staff are friendly and helpful.

The young man who cooked our breakfast was a delightful, attentive, charming server. The food was mediocre, and while edible, seemed expensive for it's flavor and quantity. Nice selection of coffee options, but we were more in the mood for cheap coffee that came with the meal. The restaurant is nicely decorated, only with a few too American flags for my comfort, and the lunch items looked like they might be better. Options in Deer Lodge seem somewhat limited, so it's worth giving this a shot. My husband thought his food was pretty good.
