This was truly an amazing tour. We booked the combo slot canyon and horseshoe bend tour. There were 11 people in our group. 11! That's how they do their tour. They want you to be able to feel the awesome power of nature, not bang around with 200 people. We spent an hour and a half walking through and enjoying the sites of the canyon. Trey, our guide, grew up on the land and told us about the area and his people. Trey also gave us picture tips and helped all of us take literally stunning pictures. We spent time on our own first at our own pace then on the return walk Trey pointed out the many wonders of the canyon. We also were taken to a replica that was built of Trey's grandmother's original home. It was built in the traditional way and furnished with personal items. The tour then went to horseshoe bend. We were taken to a private area, again with only us, that took maybe 2 minutes to walk to grim the truck. (The free general public viewing was packed with people who trecked up huge sand dunes in the heat. ) This tour was absolutely the high light of our trip. It is a bit more expensive than the "commercialized " tours but is well worth every penny.
