Nice apartment. One very large bedroom, one small bedroom with futon sofa in central room. Loads of breakfast food and bathroom products. Apartment very clean. Narrow staircase to upper floor. SIngle bathroom. A ten minute walk to nearest subway and then 40 minute trip to central Manhattan. Very nice lady owner.
My extended family of 4 and I stayed in this Park Slope apartment in Dec 2014. We selected it because we had learned from a Brooklyn friend that the neighborhood would be a perfect launching pad to get into Manhattan each day for our tourist activities. We were delighted with what we experienced. The apartment fit us quite well, and getting into Manhattan each day was a breeze on the subway -- a simple little walk away.
Our host, Evelyn, was accommodating and highly trustworthy as well as congenial, and I highly recommend her. Her apartment is right below the rental apartment. This was an added comfort for us.
The only item to think ahead about is whether or not you need a second double bed. If you do need a second double bed, it will be in the living room. The "think ahead" part of this is that to get from the master bedroom to the kitchen or bathroom you have to walk through the living room, which -- if it is dually serving as a bedroom, may impinge upon privacy or quiet time there, like in the middle of the night if you need the bathroom or want to grab a bite to eat.
That said, if you're a cozy group, like ours was, it all works out fine. Wasn't an issue for us.
Bottom line: our trip was the best. We super enjoyed our stay in the apartment and being in Park Slope. Big thanks to Evelyn - she looked out for us and made it clear in thought, word and deed that she was there for us.
Have fun with this apartment and NYC! We made the leap of faith, not having known much about the area or what to expect with the apartment. We were totally happy with our experience. Again, thanks to Evelyn.
