This is such a hard review to write. My wife and I wanted a Bed and Breakfast experience for our first trip to Savannah and Armstrong Inns and the staff certainly gave us an experience but we'll let you decide how positive.

We arrived at the Inn for our stay in the Carriage House. There we met the owner and Chief Character, Monique. Monique is French Canadian with a thick fun accent and the gift of gab so you have to be prepared to be a little patient. Before long we were set up in the carriage house and it's a unique two-story room. There isn't much in the way of a comfortable sitting area but there is a nice large kitchen, two fireplaces, and a fantastic four-poster bed upstairs. There is also a quaint garden area off the carriage house that is shared with Monique's home. The carriage house is filled with the artwork of her husband and he is truly very talented. I was impressed. And since Monique is the subject of at least one very large painting, it's almost like she's right there in the bedroom with you! ....

All was not quite perfect though. Things seem a bit disheveled and disorganized. The website states that there is a continental breakfast, prepared brunch, wine, and desserts every day. In fact, we were excitedly told that we'd have our room stocked with bagels and pie. In reality, we never received any continental breakfast or desserts even though we reminded them. That was annoying. We also received one bottle of wine which I thought was very kind but they should probably remove from the website the statement that they bring wine every day because we were there Friday-Sunday and only received one.

All said, I'm very glad we went. We had fun. We won't forget the experience. It was quirky and sometimes even comical. If you are a fussy person that has high standards for service...you might want to try something different. I doubt we would go a second time, but I was glad to spend our weekend in Savannah with them.

What a great spot! Monique was a wonderful hostess! Bed was super comfy! And the carriage house was full of charm. We only stayed two nights! We walked over 18 miles in the time we were! The area is full of gardens and squares and close enough to walk to the Old District. We had our Labrador/Husky, Crosby and she absolutely loved it, too!

Room Tip: We stayed in the renovated carriage house as it was pet friendly!

We spent the last night of our honeymoon at the Carriage House and absolutely loved it. Every detail was perfect and so cozy. Kimberly greeted us and showed us around and made us feel right at home and like family, she was just a doll. Monique was delightful and made us a delicious brunch outside in the courtyard the next morning. We loved our stay and only wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely be returning.

The carriage house was an absolutely lovely place to stay for my birthday weekend. Monique was an attentive hostess and made our stay enjoyable with incredible French brunches and small touches such as a bottle of wine, a sampling of sherry, and rose petals strewn across a gorgeous and comfortable canopy bed.

Unlike other bed and breakfast inns, there was a privacy to this place. Monique brought brunch directly to us which we enjoyed in the downstairs kitchen of the carriage house - we did not have to make "small talk" with other guests who gather in common areas and eat together. Even on the day of our departure she made us a very nice meal so that we did not have to stop somewhere on our way home. This was an unexpected gesture and much appreciated.

I highly recommend the carriage house. It's a very nice birthday memory from my thoughtful husband.

Stayed at the Chatham Suite - lovely time, charming and most helpful owner; hugely considerate and every time you turned around, there was another thoughtful element- apple pie in the fridge, all sorts of good tea, terrific. Being on the square means lovely views, and there's off street parking - very relevant for Savannah. Excellent place to stay.
