The Cotton Exchange Experience

First time in Savannah so where to eat? Great suggestion The Cotton Exchange.

It was in a great walking area of Savannah- we were there on a Sunday so great football coverage in bar area.

The food was fantastic!!

We started with Tybee soup which was delicious and we also had Shrimp and Grits and the Low-Country Boil which was a lot of shrimp, red potatoes and sausage.

located in an old warehouse facing the river. Lots of wood, dark, has the feel of something from ancient days in Savannah. Wait staff was great, friendly and fast. We had 7 in our group and had no complaints. Always have the Reuben and the German potato salad. Beer cold

After a long day of traveling, we headed to the River Walk to grab a bite to eat here! We arrived around 6:30 pm on a Tuesday night and there was a good 15 minute wait. The best part is, they have a walk-up bar and in Savannah you can carry alcohol in the street. 15 minute wait wasn't so bad with a drink in hand.

At the bar we ordered their Peach Sangria, two drinks in and I don't think there's much alcohol in there. $9 each.

For starters we ordered their Fried Green Tomatoes and I must admit they were some of the better ones we tried while in Savannah and Charleston. We had these with almost every meal, and I kept coming back to the taste of these particular ones. No frills and just right.

I attempted to order the Baked Stuff Flounder for dinner but right when it came out of my mouth the waiter shook his head and said noooo. He let us know that that particular plate had been sent back three times already during his shift. Thank you for the heads-up! I am not mad, he's doing himself a favor!

Instead I ordered their white fish with potatoes and asparagus. I didn't finish my plate because the fish's texture was super spongy. The potatoes were cold and my asparagus was over cooked.

My partner got the rib-eye steak medium well, he had no complaints about it but didn't say it was the best. The bread they give with their meals is pretty good too! The broccoli just tasted like garlic. Meh.

I will probably not visit this place to eat again while in Savannah.

We stopped in for a drink. Staff was very nice and friendly. I tried the crab chowder and it was pretty good. I had a cup of crab chowder almost everywhere we went on the river and it all pretty much tasted the same.

Came in for a lunch and drinks outing. Despite being situated with all the other touristy places this place was really good. Staff were friendly. Good drinks and great food. Reasonable prices and a good portion. Wait was not too long to sit. Atmosphere was fun, festive and just good to be a part of. I had been here before and will return next time I am in town. Alligator app is good and so is the corned beef sandwich.
