We love to walk around in the old battle relics and think about how much things have changed since it was built. Wish there was more information there to read about the Fort.

We have been to Fort Stevens twice. It is a great place to camp. The campground is very clean. The bike paths all over the park are very nice. Beach access from the park as well. As for the museum it was very informative. Both the tour of the underground battery and the truck tour are informative. We will return again to camp.

We only spent one night here but had a great time camping in one of their cabins. The following morning we rented bikes from the Park and rode down to the wreck of the Peter Iredale and then a further four miles along the beach, it was low tide so a broad swath of hard sand. Then across to the fort which guarded the Columbia River entrance. The fort is interesting with some guns and underground areas to explore. The bike trails are well laid and marked; cycling even on 'coaster' bikes was great fun.

We started off our Summer camping at Fort Stevens (F Loop near the bathrooms/showers) and Stayed two nights. it was so relaxing and actually pretty quiet park considering how full it was!

Just down the road is Peter Iredale shipwreck on the beach. Check that out! Next time we stay at this campground I’d like to take the tours that are offered but we were out hiking other locations so we missed out.

We had no complaints other than the showers in our loop being ice cold but the loop next to us was not far at all, within walking distance. I was so glad the female ranger came over to suggest those showers! She was so nice and our dogs loved her. The E Loop showers are individual showers so it’s nice to have that privacy. But the cold showers didn’t affect my rating for this park. I will still visit sometime in the future! Sure beats getting a hotel that costs over $100!
