What a fun family performance. The Florida Theater is lovely. Do note that there aren’t any restaurants within walking distance open on Sunday. We had hoped to grab a bite before the show. Great time!

The Florida theatre has 1900 seats, a huge theatre and unless you're in the first front rows center you'll feel left out. In addition they are quite happy to allow both video and audio taping. This results in a constant barrage of cell phones pictures being taken even in an adult show like Michael McDonald last night. I am a supporter of the theatre although I'm not sure why! I have tickets for several more shows but will be not be attending thanks to all of the cell phone pictures being taken.

This theatre venue is refreshing. There's really no bad seat in the house and it's small enough for the performers to have an intimate connection with the audience (and visa versa). There is an open bar in the lobby and ample restrooms. The location in downtown Jacksonville is surrounded by restaurants and pubs to fill your time and tummy while you wait for the show or for after cocktails. I will not hesitate to return to this quaint historic theatre.

First time visit: The Florida Theater is deceiving from the outside - I was impressed with the interior ceiling architecture and lighting. The seating and acoustics are good, though the seats are dated. Overall, a good location for enjoying music or plays.

A personal security check with wands is conducted before entering the theater at two locations - plan on arriving a few minutes early; the side entrance was faster.

Myself and some friends enjoyed watching Jamey Johnson perform last night. This my first trip to The Florida Theatre it will not be my last. Only downfall for me is I’m a big man and the seats are not plus size friendly. Service was great & very friendly they had a great selection of liquor so that made me extra happy. Overall it was great if you in town I suggest stopping in to see a show.
