Great food! We loved the Pennsylvania Dutch chicken pot pie. Chicken, egg noodles, and potatoes in a flavorful gravy between a flaky pastry crust. It’s as good as it sounds! It came with a side of pumpkin fritters which were delicious. We also had meatloaf with mashed potatoes and corn which were good. The shoofly pie for dessert was magnificent! If was like pie AND cake. The service was a little slow.

One of the best restaurants in Gettysburg. Even though they were busy we didn't have to wait long at all. Two of the appetizers are a must haves. We're looking forward to going back soon :)

We have been wanting to stop for a long time. Today we did, we ate outside. The bread was stale. The potatoe soup was terrible. Whoever made it had no clue what they were doing. The waitress didn't ask if anything was wrong. Only ate half of meal.

Went here for lunch on thursday afternoon while in town on vacation. Had the bangers and mash and it was excellent! Service was also good. Returned friday evening for dinner and sat in the beer garden outside area. Was not to happy that it took 15 mins to finally see a waiter after being seated. But to be fair i think he was new. It wasnt overly busy so i wasnt impressed. Other then that the food was once again excellent and my gf and I enjoyed our dinner. We really enjoy the history of the place and will be back again.

Thank Thomas M

I LOVE this tavern. It feels very old world, it's dim lit and cozy. But, it's not a "fine eating establishment." What I mean is the prices are great but won't bankrupt you and they keep the food types good. That is, they're not serving "porridge" or "roast duck" or somethng you find in upper style taverns that are ridiculously overpriced. Here you can get chicken tenders or a grilled cheese (both my favs) and they actually appear on the menu so you don't feel embarassed ordering it as you would a more upper establishment tavern. You can take your kids in here. Other taverns in the area are just way too posh and upper class style with very fine menu choices. Me, I prefer some chicken tenders, a coke and a cozy tavern-like atmosphere where it's all cozy and feels like a real tavern vs just a drinking establishment.
