We were greeted by a costumed guide from the house, who showed us the many bullet holes peppering the brick exterior of the house. Confederate sharpshooters holed themselves up in the attic of the house during the battle of Gettysburg. We were able to view the entire interior of the house, which has many lovely artefacts and learn about the life of the family who lived there. Well worth a visit to find out how the war affected the townspeople.
