We hiked Joe’s Canyon Trail to the peak and back. It is steep for about 2 miles and is about 7 miles round trip. The views are great the higher you hike. Lots of switch backs with drop offs. There is also an abandoned cave at the park that we did not go to. We earned the “I Hike for Health” pin and my boys the Jr. Ranger badges. The visitors center has an explorer Coronado exhibit. Nice NSP!

Adventurous ride up but worth it
We have gone there a number of times now, and brought many family and friends up here.

Visited 5-12-18. This is a real nice area that is out of the way. The visitors center is small but loaded with lots local history and a bunch of handouts for reading. The area is beautiful with a lot of native plants and trees to study. Plenty of hiking with no other people around on this day. The staff was super friendly.
