The decorating is truly horrendous. Lamps looks so cheap and nothing matches. Our t.v. was mounted on a white board with graffiti. The carpeting is a tobacco (greenish brown) color and textured. Unfortunately, you can see how worn down it is on all room paths. Call for extra pillows because the two pillows on your bed are thinner than the "My Pillow" back home. Hallways feature brightly striped carpeting and brightly checked wallpaper.
Now the good news...The location is great, a half block from Times Square. They have a fantastic rooftop bar, albeit expensive. They let us check in early, giving us a room on 7th floor and our friend got a room on 41st. I think the front desk felt sorry for our room location, because when I asked if they had any discount coupons for drinks at the rooftop bar, she gave us a $50 credit to use up there. (Our total bill for two drinks was $65 with tip.) The beds in the room are comfortable and the room doors close quietly. The bathroom looks to be recently remodeled, with beautiful black and white tile. The lobby had a nice water cooler, which was fruit infused, but that disappeared during our stay. You can ask for bottled water at the front desk. The room had a Keurig coffee maker and two bottles of water (complimentary). I would stay here again if the rate was low.More
