We ate at Joe Allen's before seeing Hamilton and the food was good and the service was very friendly. We had the salmon and soup of the day. It was all very good. Would recommend going here before the theatre.

Don't bother with this phoney place, which is "famous" from years past when it was a hangout for actors and their "dates," but today is just a tourist trap. If you want a "Joe Allen Experience" for your bucket list, go to the bar, have an over-priced cocktail and then leave, never to return. This place is resting on its laurels from years past...many years past, offering today over-priced, rushed meal service and no heart, no soul, just vacuuming your money out of your pocket.

Had brunch before play.. had no reservation (on a Sunday) easily seated.

Had Lauren as our server. She knew her menu, was polite and efficient- a pleasure.

Ordered house Pinot Giorgio...decent wine in 1/2 carafe,
My friend had smoked salmon benedict ( she liked it) I had frittata ( it was ok) home fries were excellent!!

Dessert was a delicious hot fudge brownie sundae loved it!!

Been here before.. $100 for brunch

Will return

We really enjoyed this restaurant, it is good food for a fair price right in the heart of the theatre district. The service was excellent, our friends said the Trout was the best he ever had, I thought the Shrimp and Grits was delicious. We would return to this restaurant again when visiting NYC.

Booked a table to avoid the pre and post Theatre crowds.
Friendly and efficient service, good cocktails.
The 'Shrimp and Grits' was excellent as was my wife's pasta.
They are obviously used to getting customers through the system in good time so they don't miss their theatre shows. Even though we weren't Theatre goers that night the mains arrived within a couple of minutes of the starters being cleared.
Made us feel a little rushed, hence 4 stars and not 5.
