Grand Loft, 3,000 square feet, 3rd floor. elevator access, lot of light due to 6 large, south exposed windows
I enjoyed to design of the loft-apartment, centered around a common grand space supportive of all kind of living/dining activities, very convivial, also featuring a large and practical kitchen.
All furniture are on wheel, allowing guests to modify and reconfigure the space. Very creative and inspirational place.
Wonderful neighborhood, full of life and more authentic than the Upper East side of Manhattan.
The owner is an architect who loves to cook (and he graciously cooked twice for our family during our stay.
I would love to go back soon for another visit!
This is really a spectacular loft featuring three bedrooms and two baths, a large kitchen and a small laundry room.
It worked perfectly for our family needs, we stayed for 10 days and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. The location is perfect,in a wonderful neighborhood ( the super trendy TRIBECA) , close by every possible subway lines in Manhattan.
All bedrooms are air conditioned (in july and august you need it) and the large living/dining area has 4 ceiling fans.
The owner is an architect and the place shows it.
Wow...I stayed for ten days with my family in a large and beautiful loft designed by an Italian architect, in Tri-Be-Ca, an elegant neighborhood, full of life and young people, restaurants, markets and parks, close to the Financial District, Chinatown and So-Ho.
The loft was very comfortable with a high-ceiling central room, serving as the meeting place for living and dining function. Being a cook, I particularly appreciated the large open kitchen with a 48"-wide professional cooking range.
Nice also to have Chinatown food shops almost round the corner.
The owner was very nice and helped us in every way to enjoy the apartment and the neighborhood. Everything went well and we have a wonderful memory of our New York visit .
A truly spectacular loft and a great base for exploring Manhattan and beyond. The main living area is breathtaking, very high ceilinged and a wonderfully large space to share in comfort. Well appointed too, with pretty much everything you need but if you have questions or cannot quite find what you are after, Roberto is a helpful, friendly and accommodating host. If you like a place to stay that is different with interesting quirks and a sense of uniqueness, a base that is a haven to return to and enables you to do NYC your way, this loft is for you. As other reviews mention, the bedrooms and one or two areas around the periphery of the main room require some ‘duck or grouse’ stooping for those over 6 foot - like an old British house - and because the bedrooms are accessed by steep steps or open stairways, your party needs to be mobile - but these elements also make staying here fun. The loft’s location is an easy walk to several key downtown sights and ferries to NJ, as well the main subway lines for mid and uptown - plus bus routes ... an underrated way to get around Manhattan. Lots of restaurants are also in walking distance, as well as several deli’s. Staying here is excellent. Highly recommended.
If its big that you are looking for then that is fine.
However if you are over 6 feet tall then you cannot stand up straight in the kitchen or any of the bedrooms.
Bathrooms are not connected to the bedrooms and in fact the access to the bathroom for the main room is down a vertical hatch or down stairs that are not a standard height. The access for the bathroom for the other two bedroom sis on the other side of the apartment.
Beds are like rock and in the case of the third bedroom its more like and above ground dungeon. My daughter slept on the couch.
The layout is not architecturally designed. Its just got some art in it.
