Description: The Original Benito One opened it's doors in 1968. Because of the reputation of Chef Benito it became an instant hit in Little Italy. It started out with only 5 tables in a tiny store front. It hasen't changed much over the years. The new owners are 2 brothers (Nick and James Bari) who have been in the restaurant business for over 40 years. Born and raised on Mulberry Street and now the proud owners of Benito. Out of respect of Chef Benito they kept the name and pretty much the same menu. The chef that is there has been working in Benito for over 29 years. Nick and James have kept the same cozy and family oriented look of the restaurant. All the pictures on the walls are of thier family, parents, grand parents and great grand parents. They will maintain the look and taste of the original Benito as long as they are there. Nick and James invite you to come and take a look and hopefully become a member of the Benito family.

Coming from an Italian family, most Italian restaurants aren’t close to a REAL Italian meal. This place was great and we had the red snapper ENTREE along with spaghetti Pomodoro. Both were A+ and the wine was delicious. The service was also great. Highly recommended.

We came here on a Wednesday evening when they had a special of 3 course meal for $25. Everything was so delicious and fresh. The baked clams, shrp oregonato and rigatoni Bolognese were our favorites! Definitely recommend. Cozy, relaxing atmosphere, nice music, nice staff. A nice Oasis from the busyness and noise of the city :)

Went here on our last night in New York and I would say eating here would bring me back again. Excellent Italian meal and the quantities were very large. I had the three course special which I chose calamari, pasta withmussels, and shrimp. All were excellent and there were many other combos you could have. Pricing very reasonable ($25). Other diners had chicken parm and spag and meatballs both of which I tried and they were excellent. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants authentic Italian at a reasonable price.

Benito One is the place to go in Little Italy! The food was incredible...chicken picatta, meatballs and lasagna were our favorites! The owner sits outside and welcomes you as you come in. We will definitely go back!

After a lovely welcome from Sir James who helped us with our appetizer selection we were off to a great start! Appetizers included the baked clams, calamari, the meatballs and the stuff artichokes all were cooked to perfection. Our mains included veal benito, saltimbocca, and several selections from the home made pastas. The service was, of course, excellent and the wine as well!
