“Worn, but Overall a Great Stay”

We were very pleased with our stay. Harlem is a great neighborhood and the unit was located close to the main drag with access to shops, and public transit. We were even able to find street parking, which was great. The unit itself was large with two queen beds in the bedroom, a decent sized bathroom, kitchenette, and living area- all nice perks for NYC. The unit was a bit worn (it could do with a professional once-over of the rugs and upholstery, and there were a few broken glasses, lamp shades, and other minor things), but it was very clean. The unit owners though of everything. There was a small space heater, fan, dishes, extra linens, etc. Aside from hand soap, toiletries were not included, so bring your own. There was also a very nice back patio that we didn't use because of the weather, but it was nice to have the outdoor space available. Our point of contact, Titi, was very nice and was available via cell phone/text whenever we had questions. We'll definitely keep this on our list of places to stay the next time we visit NYC.

“Home away from home in Manhattan...”
Reviewed 24 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Our group of eight had an enjoyable holiday stay at this location. Titi was prompt and helpful to meet every need we had for our large group, including providing extra hide away bed and fan for the bedroom area. Hilda the cleaning person was also helpful in our checking in process. I would recommend this location for it's convenience to shops, restaurants, and the subway to get you into Mid Manhattan for all the tourist locations. The train ride is only about 10-20 minutes depending on where you are going and the time of day. We saw all the sites in Manhattan and explored the Harlem portions of Manhattan we had not previously been able to see.

“live like a new yorker”
Reviewed 12 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

we were in the apartment on the 1st floor above the basement with two very spacious bedrooms, fully equiped kitchen, laundry, spacious bathroom and living room, There was adequate room for my husband and our 10 year old daughter. My only gripe is that the apartment I found to be very dusty, floors not properly vacuumed especially under beds and some junk lying around in the closets. The one major aspect of this apartment which they fail to mention is directly under the property runs the subway and you continually feel and hear the trains especially while trying to sleep at night. That was our greatest disappointment not being informed of subway. Otherwise we enjoyed our apartment style living saving money by eating breakfast in. Titi the manager was lovely and on hand for any issues or questions.

“Adequate but definitely not gorgeous”

This is our first rental using the trip advisor sight. All of our booking arrangements and
payments were easy with no problems. However, the description of the apartment was
to say the least disingenuous. We didn't find it gorgeous. It is not a 1st floor apartment,
but actually below street level. The pictures on the web site show an immense amount of
light in the front room/kitchen area. In fact it was rather dreary with little natural light coming
In from the outside with only one window covered by a dirty venetian blind facing the side walk and trash cans. The apartment location is noted to be Manhattan, but nowhere is
it mentioned that it is in Harlem.
We found the apartment gave easy access to the subway one block away along with
a number of very good restaurants within 3 blocks walking distance.

Management Response
21 Nov 2014
It is unfortunate that this apartment was not suited to this traveler's tastes. However, for the sake of accuracy, we must clarify that this apartment is on the 1st Floor/Garden Level of the building. It is not "below street level". There are most definitely two windows in the front and rear of the apartment as is clearly indicated on the photos. Depending upon the weather, this apartment gets a lot of sun from the front two windows and a lot of sun in the rear yard. There are many restaurants including Blvd, Red Rooster, Chez Lucienne, and others within 1 block of the apartment. Travelers who do their due diligence understand that Harlem is a district within Manhattan and the location is clearly indicated on the map. As is evident from past reviews, the majority of guests love this apartment and we get return visitors each year requesting this apartment for it's spaciousness, private garden access, and close proximity to nice restaurants, cafes, and shopping.

“Stay in the city without the cramped quarters”
Reviewed 8 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

This apartment is perfect! It’s exactly like the pictures; clean, spacious and comfortable. There are plenty of extra towels and linens available, plenty of hot water and I particularly loved the patio. Wherever I go I’ve got to have a personal outdoor space, whether it be a balcony, rooftop, courtyard, etc., and this patio was one of my favorites. I really liked the area as well. We were only 2 blocks from the subway, which was actually on the same street as the apartment and made it very easy to find when we arrived. We were also 2 blocks from a drugstore and a starbucks, less than a block from a bodega and a deli and surrounded by really good restaurants. Each day we just walked in a different direction to find some place to eat and all of the places we tried were excellent. Our favorite was Blvd Bistro, which was less than a block away. Titi, the owner of the apartment is a very kind, helpful lady and I owe our wonderful stay to her.
