Food and Wine Magazine listed Jess Shadbolt and Clare de Boer as two of the best new chefs of 2018. Since two adult women who love food were on our way to NYC for the day we decided to try their restaurant, King. We loved our lunch. The restaurant looks like an Italian trattoria on the outside. Inside it is fresh and airy, despite the smaller size. There seemed to be a kiss of lemon and lime everywhere. Our server was polite and knowledgable. We chose 2 Italian red wines that were lovely. The two of us shared Harry's Bar sandwich as an appetizer. It was a little overdone but delicious. We also split the tonno e fagiolo which was fresh and yummy. For our entree we had the quail and polenta dish which was out of this world.
