Bed comfortable ,clean bathroom ,nice big tv. Lots of space in drawers ironing facility.Staff very nice friendly and polite. Breakfast simple but all you need ,bagels toast cereal fresh fruit coffee machine juice and water. We are very happy with this hotel and will definitely stay there again if we back in New York.Thank you Carnegie Hotel for making our stay great comfortable and welcoming

We stayed here just for few days and we had a lovely room experience!

The hotel compared to the big hotel chains (Sheraton, Hilton) is quite tiny but located in central NY with lovely and clean rooms.

We had a Superior bedroom with a big window, a comfortable and big bed and a small but lovely bathroom with shower. The room wasn’t big but it was clean and efficient. We were at level 15th and we couldn’t hear any sounds during our stay.

When you enter the hotel you will have reception at your right, and if you look in front of you, you should be able to see maybe 6/7 tables with a small space that looks more like a cheap hotel kind of breakfast area.

The big disappointment about this place was the breakfast and the wine tasting with cheese offered for free at 5PM.

Breakfast was very poor: Coffee from a machine, no juices to drinks or if any always from a machine, three type of cereals, two types of brioche, one kind of fruit (usually banana) and many empty bagels that you could have with honey or jam. What about if someone wants to eat some eggs, some different variety of fruit? some healthy options?

Regarding the free wine at 5PM same thing: cheap red and white wine and probably 2 selections of cheese, this as well wasn’t the best quality.

We liked this hotel for the room and for being very clean but is not worth it £400 for two nights, especially with the non-existent breakfast and the cheap food options.

Room value: 8/10
Bathroom value: 8/10

Total value: 7/10

Close to Times Square, its central location was well appreciated.
The rooms are clean and functional. A small hotel, probably more suited for a short stay in NYC. Snacks and wine are offered in the afternoon.
The staff at the reception was pleasant and competent.

I’m huge on doing research before holidaying, and trip advisor pointed me to Carnegie Hotel (don’t confuse it with another one in Johnson City like I did when booking online!).

Location:

This was a cute hotel just a few short blocks from the south entrance to Central Park and Columbus Circle where you can rent bikes easily.

It’s also close to the 57 street subway which we used the R line for Staten Island ferry and Brooklyn. And stopped at Times Square on the way home.

Walkable (15 blocks or 20 mins or so) to Times Square.

Hotel:

The rooms are small but expected, and beautifully decorated. Great use of space in the small bathrooms. One of the comfiest beds of our 3 week USA trip! The body wash was actually nice to use (unlike many we get in hotels) and all staff were friendly but respectful of privacy.

The 24 hour tea coffee and hot choc station was used regularly, even at 3am when we couldnt sleep.

I grabbed a bagel one morning but other than that we didn’t partake in the breakfast.

The midday checkout was a lovely surprise.

Would love to come back if I’m ever in NYC again!

We stayed for 5 nights in a king suite. I would recommend booking a suite as other reviews suggest that the standard rooms are on the small side.
Overall the room was very quiet, comfortable with a large bed, great shower and bathroom facilities, and plenty of storage space. We had floor to ceiling window looking out on to Carnegie Hall. There were cool, electrically operated, shades and blackout blinds for the picture windows. My only criticism with the room was that there wasn’t any comfortable seating.
The hotel offers a plentiful continental breakfast which more than satisfied our needs and set us up for our energistic days in this vibrant city. The seating area for breakfast is small and cosy. It did get busy at peak times but we were always able to get a seat, and the food was replenished with great regularity and efficiency.
Complimentary coffee, tea and snacks were available in the dining area throughout the day. This was an unexpected treat.
Another pleasant touch was the complimentary wine and cheese between 5 &.6 each evening. The measures were generous and the quality of both red and white wines was good.
Finally the location of the hotel was great. There was easy walking access to Central Park, Time Square, and access To the subway was a few minutes walk away.
We found this a great place to stay, with a plentiful supply of nearby restaurants and easy access to all major sights in New York.
