Select Oyster is amazing. From the ambiance to the wine bar to the delicious food, they are truly one of Boston's best seafood restaurants. It's super cozy and classy, and the location on Newbury Street is beautiful. Perfect for date night.

We decided to eat here in spite of some negative reviews because I REALLY wanted oysters. I did indeed get oysters and was very pleased with the quality and the selection. We had a reservation and were seated at the bar. The bartender was very busy but managed to be helpful, nice and efficient. The place is all hard surfaces so it's really noisy and you will be sitting very close to other diners. Don't plan on having an intimate conversation!

Our third dinner here. Each meal was a delight. Try the oysters for sure. Incredibly fresh. Crab credo is a must, too. Nothing is inexpensive, but everything is as fresh as it could be. I’ve had the lobster salad twice and enjoyed both time. Not huge chucks of lobster, but plenty of small pieces. Get the avocado toast...it is a real winner. They don’t serve dessert, so go across the street to Eatly and get take home dessert from them. We always do.

We came in early and sat at a shared high-top. The room was cozy and pleasant. I was a little worried because we were pretty casually dressed and not big spenders, but the service was super -- low-key, friendly, and knowledgeable. We had a fruits de mer plate to share with additional oysters. Everything was fresh and good, but the stars were the scallop ceviche and the crab salad. Clearly a lot of thought has been put into the wine and beer lists, and we had some excellent cocktails. It was about $85 pp all included for two drinks and the shared platter which was plenty to eat, and seemed reasonable for the neighborhood and the quality. Definitely worth stopping in.

Early Mothers Day visit (I love oysters). The oysters were terrific, especially the ones for Nova Scotia. The ceviche was fresh and not overly lemon-y which often kills the point of the dish. My husband reported that the calamari was excellently prepared. It was expensive...
But the waiters and waitresses were friendly, on the ball, knowledgeable and frankly, a riot!
