Description: Spyce is the world’s first restaurant featuring a robotic kitchen that cooks complex meals to order. Founded by four MIT graduates with a vision to reinvent fast casual dining, and led by the culinary talent of Michelin-starred Chef Daniel Boulud and Sam Benson, Spyce offers wholesome and delicious meals at $7.50 in three minutes or less. Our purpose is to provide delicious and wholesome food without the expected price tag.

This place is very unique. The ordering is done on a POS and human interaction is kept as a minimum. Your order is then mixed by a rotating robot. The food is very, very tasty but portions could be larger. Will definitely be heading back for lunch!

Had the chance to try out Spyce and was blown away! Yes, it was super cool to watch the robot prepare my dinner in about 4 minutes, but the most surprising part truly was the taste! I commented to a staff member that I've never tasted this kind of (healthy) deliciousness at a quick food restaurant. The unique combination of flavors and textures will keep me coming back for more. ...and the portion size was more than I could eat that night. I brought half of my beet bowl home, and was happy to have it for lunch the next day.

The deal here is that a robot cooks your food. Humans finish it off. It’s a fun idea and the food is tasty and reasonably priced! If you’re visiting Boston I’d recommend this place because it’s one of the more accessible ways to experience the wonderful nerdiness that MIT brings the city. It’s also in an area packed with tourist stuff. If robots are going to take over the world, I hope they cook.

Michelin Star food prepared robotically. Concept developed by MIT students that could not find affordable, healthy, fast food when they were in school. Wok fried bowls for every palate. Food was quick, fast, fresh, healthy and very tasty. Very well planned and organized from the ordering process through preparation. LOVE that they do not have straws and most everything (bowls and cutlery) is compostable. Well done!!!

The concept sounds enticing - food cooked by robots! In reality, the gimmick is fairly unimpressive visually (automated ordering and a few pots swirling around on the wall). The food is decent enough, and the order process quite simple: you have a limited number bowls to choose from, and you can then further customize them to your liking. At the end, you get a bowl stamped with your name. Staff were friendly. There is plenty of space for the order screens, but not so much for actual eating customers. A couple of tables are squeezed here and there, plus a communal bench. Definitely not enough for the lunch crowds. If you must visit, go outside of the lunch hour, when the place is virtually empty.
