“Acadia Parkview – Spacious, clean, convenient, relaxing”
Reviewed 31 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

My wife and I, along with 3 teenage boys, recently returned from Bar Harbor, ME. We chose this rental, in part, based on Robert I's review. The cost and location were also deciding factors. The 4 bedrooms have ample space. The two back rooms have queen beds and televisions, and the forward rooms have 2 twins in each. Each bedroom is equipped with AC. 2 bathrooms, one in master bed, the other in hall off kitchen. 2 sitting/living rooms each with a couch and matching arm chair. One room has a large screen TV along with DVD player. Free wifi, password provided upon entry to house. A well equipped kitchen (pots, pans, blender, toaster, Kuerig and drip coffee makers) with an electric oven, and a large refrigerator with ice maker. A dining room off the kitchen leads to a fenced in yard with patio and gas grill. A front porch with a small dining table on one side and two wicker chairs on the other. All in the family were pleased with the space and privacy. You could easily split this house with two 4 person families.

For us the location was perfect. A quiet 5 house street opposite a wooded park within walking distance to all. From house to waterfront at end of Main Street is a half mile. The Main Street stores, restaurants, bars, etc start less than 1/4 mile from the house. We rarely used our car when in town unless going to Hannaford's market on Cottage Street which is just under a half mile away. The proximity to Acadia National Park, which we visited 4 out of 7 days, is great. Read your map. The ANP visitor's center entrance is a much farther drive than needed. There are more entrances to the park. Downtown they have a visitor center on the corner of Main St and Cottage St that offers all the info including the park pass.

The only reason I did not rate this property a 5 is some of the mattresses are wearing thin. I recommend management/ownership replace the master bed mattress and one of the twins in the front room. This is by no means a deal breaker, but sleeping comfort is a plus.

If you like a quiet place to retreat to after a day of hiking/kayaking/sailing, etc I would recommend you give this house a try.

“Best Kept Secret in Bar Harbor!”

The Acadia Parkview is an outstanding place to stay if you need 4 bedrooms. It is in excellent condition throughout. It is located on a quiet street that is only one block long, so little vehicle traffic ever passes by. There is a beautiful wooded area right across the street and woods behind the house where we twice saw deer during our stay.

It is 3 blocks to Main Sreet and about a 15 minute walk to the Village Green in downtown Bar Harbor.

This is a single story building so no need to climb stairs other than the 3 steps up to the front door. The 2 largest bedrooms have queen beds and lots of storage/closet space. The other 2 bedrooms have twin beds. The kitchen is very large, as is the dining room, which has a table that seats 6. There is a nice sized fenced in yard on the side with a modern BBQ grill and a table with an umbrella. There is a fireplace in the living room and a large flat screen TV in the sitting area. There are televisions in the 2 largest bedrooms. The house has wi-if and cable TV.

We would highly recommend the Acadia Parkview cottage and feel that it is truly the best kept secret in Acadia.
