“KNK #115”

The Hartman’s #115 Condo at Ke Nani Kai is absolutely wonderful! I am into my fifth week of a ten week stay and I am so very pleased I chose this unit. I came to Molokai for quiet and solitude in which to read, write, reflect, and I have most certainly found this place to be absolutely perfect. I’ve stayed in many home rentals over the years during business and leisure travel, and this unit is exactly as advertised. It is tastefully furnished and well stocked, and the bed is incredibly comfortable. I love that Rose actually provides a detailed list of everything contained in the condo, which really helped me in trip packing. Electricity is outrageously expensive in Hawaii so there are not many vacation rentals that provide air conditioning. But the condo has an entire wall of sliding doors and a screened entry door so with the fans and trade winds the equatorial temperature is fine. I even sleep with the doors open and listen to the waves crashing in the distance. I came on a day trip to Molokai in 2009 and knew I would return and stay for a while. This island is beautiful and its residents are very friendly. There are interesting sites to visit, empty beaches to walk, and hiking trails all over the island. In a few days I am taking the short flight from “topside” down to Kalaupapa for the Damien tour of this historic site. Some days I casually drive from end of the island to the other just looking at the scenery. Other days I do not move from the lanai, but simply sit for hours in the lounge chair enjoying the beautiful view. There are few restaurants on the island so for someone like me who doesn’t cook, meals have been a challenge. But the small stores have what one needs to put together a simple healthy meal, and I’m eating much better than I do at home.  If you are unsure about which west end complex to stay I highly recommend Ke Nani Kai. The pool is very nice, the grounds are well landscaped, and the layout of the complex is open, providing great views and trade wind flow. Last but not least, when I made an inquiry regarding renting the condo, Rose and I discovered we only live 38 miles from each other! So we met one day and she bought me lunch! She is a very nice, interesting lady who genuinely cares about those who rent her Molokai home and truly goes out of her way to ensure you are comfortable. Come and spend some time here – I guarantee you will have a memorable experience!

“Ke Nani Kai 115”
Reviewed 21 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

This was our 4th visit to Molokai and our 3rd time staying in Ke Nani Kai #115. We just love this condo and would not stay anywhere else. This unit delivers in every way. It is better than advertised and the owner is extremely helpful and responsive. Each time we stay, there are improvements to the condo and/or furnishings. You really don't need to bring anything beyond your clothes and personal needs in this condo. In addition to the furnishings, we believe the location is the best at Ke Nan Kai. The view is unobstructed and beautiful. No buildings, no parking lots, no walkways. The condo is very private and you can watch the sunset front he lanai. The condo also has a pool and a jacuzzi with a bar-b-que area. We just love it here on Molokai and unit #115. Looking forward to our visit next year.

“Peaceful, Quiet, and Relaxing”
Reviewed 29 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Very well kept and updated condo with peekaboo view to the ocean from lanai. Quiet area for those who are seeking rest and relaxation with no crowds. We never made it to the pool, but adventures out to find beaches was a lot of fun (4-wheel drive recommended if it recently rained). Beaches on the west end are not for swimming or snorkeling except on very calm days, but that should not deter you if you seek beach solitude (it's rare to come across other people on the west end beaches).

This was our second trip to Molokai and first stay in #115. We will definitely try to book this unit on our next trip.
