Owner description: Aloha and welcome to Mauis Garden Of Eden Arboretum. An Arboretum is a park dedicated to trees. We also feature hundreds of lowland rainforest species of flowers, shrubs, and ground covers as well.We began this project in1991 with 30 acres of densely overgrown jungle, now after investing more than 20yrs of physical labor and 2 million dollars, we have created one of Hawaii's most visited botanical gardens. We have many plants found nowhere else or are uncommon to Hawaii, such as rare Amazon fruits and medicinal species, endangered hardwoods, spice, exotic nut trees, ferns and so much more...A botanical Disneyland with over 2 miles of maintained graveled walking trails...A truly educational facility with over 700 plants botanically labeled. Try to allow at least 45 minutes to explore. We feature great views and photo opportunities but no direct access to the waterfall or pools. If you are only interested in restrooms (we now have improved facilities) You can do so for free 2 miles down the road.A portion of your entry fee is donated to the nature conservatory. The cost to keep our gate open averages $1,000/dy so we sincerely thank you for your support,,,especially those who have contributed beyond our entry fee. Most botanical gardens have teams of volunteers and use chemicals to curb costs. Our entire staff are well paid professionals, and we are almost entirely a chemical free park. Thank you for visiting, we do take your comments to heart

There are lots of colorful plants, and interesting things to see. The trees are awesome, the flowers are amazing, the animals are very interesting...just don’t run into a web while exploring!

It was pouring rain the day we did the road to Hana, but this stop was still a must. There are so many well labeled plants and things to see They take a lot of pride in their p]garden and it shows in the well placed lookouts.. You can feed the birds, we just wish parents would not let their kid's chase and bully them. You should make a visit here on your way to Hana.

Thank you for your investment in helping restore natural ecosystems and promoting Hawai’i’s native and indigenous species. We hope to see you again soon!

We paid 15$/person to see... nothing. The waterfall we could see by ourselves from the car apparently so all the money we paid was for nothing. Drive a little bit longer on the main road and watch the view for free, even closer! :)

Aloha,

We appreciate you visiting our Garden, and for writing a review. We value our guests experiences greatly, and are constantly looking for viable ways in which we can improve.

Our 27 acre Garden offers more than 2 miles of well maintained walking paths, hundreds of botanical labels, beautiful overlooks onto waterfalls, valleys, and vast ocean views. We offer covered pavilions that are perfect for family picnics and a spot to relax from the winding road to Hana. Our view of Upper Puohokamoa Falls cannot be seen from any other vantage point, the valley below is private property and there is no access onto that privately owned land. Our garden is a safe place with well maintained parking areas where your belongings will be safe and secure, as many pull outs along the highway are not safe areas to leave your car and break-ins are frequent in those remote areas. Our prices are in line with other privately owned botanical gardens on Maui and throughout the United States. We are a family owned and operated business with no funding from State or County Agencies. There are many inherent costs of operating and maintaining a large business in a remote area. We are constantly adding new features to the Garden, such as additional trails, water features, parking, plants, and infrastructure. We've been in operation for over 25 years now, and have made gradual price increases to accommodate business improvements and bring more talented staff onto the team. Many of our guests return year after year to see how the Garden has grown. We have price discounts for larger parties (5+), students, military, AAA, and children.

As you can see we offer much more than a waterfall view. We hope that we have shed a little light on what admission costs go to, and the value that you receive upon entering, whether or not fully utilized.

Mahalo, Garden Staff

This place is beautiful. A great opportunity to get out of the car and stretch your legs for a bit while driving the road to Hana.

The plants here are amazing! You can see the Jurassic Park rock (not as close as I would’ve liked but nothing can be done about that). Went on a rainy day, but we were saved by our rain jackets. Great picnic spots, ducks are kind of persistent for food though. All in all an awesome experience on the Road to Hana
