We went to Waimea Canyon on our honeymoon trip to Kaua’i. It was the highlight of our trip. Truly spectacular views and awesome hiking. There are tons of pullouts along the road so be prepared to stop frequently for photo ops. Also, we did the canyon hike and it took probably about 2 hours round trip, so you should plan on your visit taking a full day. It rained while we were there so some parts of the trail were muddy and slippery. I recommend wearing real hiking boots. The hike was pretty challenging. Also, once we got back to the car we continued up the mountain to see the lookouts farther up, one of which is one of the rainiest spots on earth. I highly recommend you male this a part of your trip but plan on it being a very full day.

We visited Waimea canyon in June 2018. A must see natural wonder when you are in Kauai. Beautiful drive with each vista point having a mind blowing view - be it the falls in the red rocks or the view of the valley or the Niihau island lookout or the picturesque waterfall. The Kokee museum is a must stop and also the final stop at Kalalu lookout. A great way to spend at least half a day . Take a few minutes and stop at all the vista points while you are heading up- because you might not have places to pull over on the way down . Try to reach the base of the canyon latest by 930 am so that you have ample time to stop at all the vista points and reach Kalalu lookout by noon.

This is a breathtaking, must see, unbelievable, piece of heaven on earth. Every turn is a picturesque view that you have to see to believe. You can make this a short visit or an all day adventure. You will not be disappointed.

A pleasant drive to the canyon and amazing sceneric views. Depending where you stop, you can see the different angles and views of the canyon. Follow the signage and take advantage of the pit stops to see the beautiful views. I highly recommend to stop at places that's not touristy, that's where there's gates are, so stop at a place where you see flat ground. Take your time to absorb the beauty of Kauai, Waimea Canyon. A whole day trip, leave in the morning, I left at 9:30am, the later you go it gets quite foggy, so the earlier the better
