This villa is very roomy. We had 5 people in our group. 3 bedrooms but has 4 beds which was perfect. Floors needed to be mopped which clearly had not been done but everything else very clean. Ad for this villas says air conditioning. That is not accurate. There are 2 roll away portable AC units. Husband set one up in each of 2 bedrooms that have a porch/balcony. Then he used trash bags and chip clips to block rest of sliding door area so bugs/birds did not come in (that had to be left open to fit the large unit in so water could drain outside and hot air tube can run outside also). The house gets hot during the day (and we had mostly cloudy days) and we went the last week of May and first part of June. I never would have gotten this house if I had known that. Short rain showers every day. Hot tub is actually HOT! Loved that! The swimming pool was cold. So we would go back and forth and that was cool. Had to buy toilet paper and dishwasher tabs because we ran out. Do not plan to park car in garage because they have a full refrigerator in there plus a lot of other clutter. We had rented minivan and it did not fit. But there is one spot for your car in the driveway. Neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful. 2 of the 3 TVs are enabled for Netflix which was awesome since we have our own code. Best beach in area for snorkeling or calm water for little ones is Anini beach which is about 10 - 15 minutes away right off main highway. All beaches in Hawaii have public access to them. There is no such thing as a private beach in Hawaii which is awesome. We shopped at Costco and Walmart in Lihue. Their prices are just about $1 more per item then here in Missouri. We also shopped at Safeway in Lihue. Get their free club card at checkout and you get their discounted prices. Groceries are not pricey like I thought they would be. Also, go to Uncle's in Lihue (near Safeway). They have shaved snow. It is to die for!!!! Only place in Hawaii that sells it.
When we arrived we were stunned with how big the house was. It's perfect for entertaining and having friends over for a BBQ. The rooms were large and the beds were comfortable. Plenty of extra linens, bath towels, and beach towels. Extra bonus? Lots of beach equipment in the garage....floaties, sand toys, boogie boards. We even left behind a couple floaties and a boogie board since we couldn't fly home with them.
The kitchen has all the basics, but don't expect a ton of spices in the cupboard. Basic salt and pepper only.
There was plenty of laundry detergent in the laundry room....which comes in handy when you have small kids with you!
Eric, the property manager... or owner? Not sure, but he was easy to get a hold of and always responded quickly.
The beach isn't within walking distance, but it's a short drive(1 mile) to the St Regis Hotel and you can use their public beach. The grocery store is only minutes away too. We would stay here again in a heart beat.
