Wanted to thank the staff for a wonderful stay. Alisha and family made me feel welcomed. Got me everything I needed. Hotel is right on the beach and restaurants, shopping are near by. Had a very relaxing stay. Thanks for the Aloha spirit!!

Not sure why y'all trolls are shaming bad reviews on The Reef. We stayed there a week in May and the staff were welcoming warm and made the place shine! The hotel is conveniently located in central Kapa'a on the ocean path with great walking and biking up and down the coast. Complimentary roosters provide your daily alarm clock ! (Although by keeping doors and windows shut they can be hardly noticeable) We had by far our best island meals two doors down at Sam's Oceanview restaurant. Thank you Peggy Sue Alicia Shane and Lisa!!!
Can't wait to come back and stay again!!

It’s dirty, the reception area is filled with junk. AND they are unfriendly. Choose someplace else. We were made to feel like we were imposing, though we had a reservation. They yelled at us at check-in! (Because we wanted to give them business? We couldn’t figure out why.)

Beware! When we tried to check in, after waiting for some time (10-15 minutes?) for someone to appear at the reception desk, we were actually yelled at by an employee when we asked how much longer it might be. And when the person handling check-ins finally arrived, she was similarly unfriendly and unhelpful. So we made a beeline out of there, left wondering how such a bizarre "welcome" even took place. There are many much better options nearby. Don't be tempted by Hotel Coral Reef's relatively cheaper prices; NO nightly rate, however low, justifies such bizarre, abusive behavior.

Aloha,
We are sorry that your wife did not have the patience to wait for the front desk worker who was assisting another guest. Your wife was the rude guest who first of all entered a private dwelling and laid both of her hands on the person who lives there and also walking out of the private dwelling to come in contact with the front desk worker who was willing to assist her and your wife got the nerve to grab the lamp that was on the counter and fly it at the front desk worker.

Mahalo,
Guest Agent

Terrible customer service. Went in and booked a room. Told to come back at check in time. Came back and now the room was not available. Couldn't get a hello, thank you or even a sorry. Not friendly. Same person who booked my room was now the same person who says the room is not available. Outside was extremely dirty along with inside the lobby. I could only imagine what the stay would of been like. Definitely not even worth a star.
