Solid value. Accommodations impeccable for this historic property; all basic needs from lodging to tours to food well met. A well-oiled vacation/R&R machine with friendly staff.

We visited the Volcano National Park on a cod and rainy day. It had reasonable prices and plenty of room. The food was very reasonable for the area with a burger being under $5.00. I gave it a 4 for the location but the food was average.

This is a classic camp for military families. You can't stay here, but you can eat. Breakfast is good and much less expensive than the lodge. There is also a little grocery store (the only one we found in the park) that is open to all.

Probably one of the best options for lodging close to volcano. Only open to military. We stayed in a nice cozy little cottage with 2 bedrooms and a fireplace. Located only about a mile from visitors center.
On camp is a bowling alley, gas station, gym and small store.
The food however i have found to be below average but everything else is well worth a visit. I have stayed here more than 5+ times.

All of the staff was so nice, helpful and accommodating. The rooms are better than what you'd expect at the price. There is a Rec center and a General Store on site with everything you'll need on the volcano. The camp is about 1.5 miles from the Jaggar museum where the best view of the lava lake is. The tour guides were awesome. They were very nice and knowledgeable of everything on the Big Island, and they went out of their way to make sure you're having the best experience. The tours are a must-do if you don't have a vehicle. Definitely will stay there again!
