If you like sweet wines this is the place to visit. They have a variety of unique wines to taste. We really didn't know what to expect, but enjoyed the wines and the stories behind them. Don't let the lava flow stop you from taking a drive out to the tasting room.

We enjoyed the stop. We were on a larger tour and this was just part of it. We enjoyed a meal under tents in the rain and also a wine tasting experience. Most of the wines were average, but they were also unique. We must have enjoyed it some of them though because we all left with a few bottles to take home.
All in all- it was a great time!

This little winery has a great vibe. The tastings were great and the staff friendly. Definitely worth a visit.

Drove to Volcano Winery from Kona. The drive is about 2hrs but there is great scenery on the way plus a Black Sand Beach. My wife and I did the Premium Tasting and added a Cheese and Cracker platter to it. The majority of the Wine was White with only a couple of reds. The staff was very informative on explaining each Wine. After finishing the Tasting they showed us the Vineyard and a Old Lava Tube!

We arrived ten minutes before closing and expected to be turned away. Instead, we were treated graciously to a tasting ($5 each) and great information by the staff. We walked away an hour later with a lot of information, 2 bottles of wine, some clothing and a great piece of lava art from I LAVA LIFE. Times will be tough for Volanco businesses while VNP is closed, so if you find yourself in the area, stop in, have a tasting, and learn something!
