“Beautiful property”
Reviewed 25 July 2017 for a stay in June 2017

We were bouncing around the big island - two nights on the Hilo side, two near Volcanoe Nat'l Park and a couple of nights near Kano. Keith's home is stunning and it's obvious he cares deeply about what he's created. Really a place that deserves more than the two nights we could stay!

“Great place for Hawaiian getaway”

Nice house, just as advertised with beautiful views. Good for a family with plenty of space. Loved the waterfall, very peaceful to listen to. The instructions from Keith were easy to follow and led us right to his gate. The road is steep but very manageable with an SUV, just go slow. If you are looking for a quiet getaway away from crowds this is a good place.

This is a very well appointed off the grid house with beautiful woodworking a large covered deck, wonderful views, waterfalls and pools to swim in, fruit trees, and lots of other wildlife. You do need a Jeep to cross the streams but google maps took us right to the gate without a problem. Cell service is spotty at the house but better just down the road.

The wife and i spent our honeymoon at Keiths property and had an incredible time. One of the reasons we went to Hawaii was to hike to and swim at waterfalls. That was crossed off our list just arriving at the property. Within a 100 yards of the house here are 2 beautiful waterfalls and swimming holes, didn't even leave for the first couple of days. The house was very beautiful, the kitchen had every thing needed. The wrap around deck was one of the high points and we spent the majority of our time we were at the house relaxing on the deck...and it was the perfect place for morning coffee. It is remote (about 20 min. from Hilo) but that's part of the allure and charm... the real Hawaii experience !!! The Location was great for touring the island we could make it to the Kona side of the island( via Waimea ) in about a half hour and the drive was beautiful. All amenities were there as described ,some were at an additional charge but reasonable. Keith was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed. He also was a wealth of info for what to do on the Island.

“Adventurous and very memorable experience!”

We wanted to stay in a location that would be very different from the typical hotel one finds in Hilo, HI. This cabin clearly met our expectations!

Beautiful peacocks were walking across the yard as was a family of Mallard ducks, chickens/roosters and several horses. They all seemed to get along well. In addition, on the road to the cabin we saw several wild pigs.

The location of the cabin was not for the faint of heart. Get yourself a four-wheel drive vehicle and have a blast going through 2 rocky creek streams, steep uphill climbs, with narrow passages to heighten the adventure. Make sure you drive to the cabin on the first day in the daylight hours to better appreciate the journey since it gets very dark and the back roads are easy get confused

The cabin is tastefully appointed with some beautiful furniture pieces. From the upstairs window there are excellent views of the surrounding area. There are waterfalls and horses there, hence the name. We would do it again, especially in the heat of the summer when the waterfalls/pools are a bit warmer.

Liked best: Beautiful appointed cabin, animals running around, roosters crowing in the morning to wake us up.
Liked least: Not as centrally located as we would like, but it offered much comfort.
