“Very spacious rental”
Reviewed 8 March 2016 for a stay in March 2016

Four adults staying at house, large master bedroom with king size bed and ensuite, two further bedrooms with queen beds and second bathroom. Lovely fully fitted kitchen and dining room seating six at dining table. Spacious lounge with Koa timber floors(no shoes indoors) and two large 3 seater lounges with large screen TV, lots of open windows and ceiling fans keep house cool. Lovely balcony with seating to watch Whales and ocean, facing east. Free wifi and surf/boogie boards provided.
Mosquitoes can be a problem and the night time noise from the road behind. Hilo has a problem with Coquis -small frogs with a loud call at night. Windows are double glazed and white noise machines help somewhat. Good location, 5-10 minutes drive to town.

So close to Hilo, but it feels "far away from it all." Walk to the beach to watch the surfers, then walk just a little further to see the waterfalls. And this beach is one of the few with lifeguards.

“YOU NEED TO BOOK THIS HOME!”

Everything was exactly as promised, the owner, Wren, communicated everything very well, and our expectations were exceeded. This is a beautiful Sea-view, shared home, with the care taker downstairs- you'll never know he's there, unless you need him- Rory, is a perfect host, with tips on what to do and where to go. We recommend the Hilo Burger Joint for as many meals as you can- they have a great burger (we don't recommend the Ceasar Salad, too fishy) and the local starbucks employees are really nice, as are the Long's drugs employees. We were heading to Kona, but actually wound up liking HIlo better, for the atmosphere, the farmer's market, and the weather- and of course the Alani House- I would go again and again, if I could!
