Dug up guns. Lots of them. Admission is free with a requested donation. I spent about 1/2 hour there, donated appropriately, and was glad I went.

This Museum was my second stop of Cody Firearms museums. I must say I was blown away at the vast and diverse collection of "guns that saw action" Each display was carefully laid out for time periods with detailed descriptions of each firearm represented as well as other "dug" period correct items such as belt buckles, bullets, helmets etc. The museum is not large so there is no need to worry about walking far, it is up a flight of stairs, but the amount of history in this location was absolutely unbelievable! This is a personal collection, and photos are discouraged, and I must say their gift shop area and items are 100% better than the Museum of the West for any Firearm or History nut and collector! Please take the time to stop in and see this museum, the Cost at this time is a free will donation which in this day and age is outstanding! Well worth your time if you are a gun, history, or even metal detector lover. I would give it a rating of 10 out of 10!

Thanks for the very kind review! We try hard here, and are glad that people such as yourself appreciate all the real history we have to offer! These are definitely the guns that saw some action. Many could have lived and served through a few time periods, such as surviving the Civil War, just to be lost in the Black Hills, found partially loaded! We let you be the judge! Your imagination can run wild as you check out each item.........Thanks for visiting us, and do check back in to see the "new" items which arrive. We have some amazing ones coming out very soon! H.

Free admission, operates off donations. Only one room, so it doesn’t take long to drop by and look at the salvaged guns on display. Worth the quick stop if you have an hour to spare while in Cody.

The artifacts displayed in the museum are very old and have been "dug up". The museum is free and worth the time to explore.

This out of the way place was wonderful. It was recommended by the visitor center and was well worth the time. The owners were on hand and were fun to talk with.
