We have a modest interest in forts, so visited here. It is a self guided tour through the reconstruction, but is informative and interesting. The admission fee is modest, and the visitors' center has books and other information if you are interested. Also, the employees are knowledgeable, so talking with them can fill in the gaps.

In spite of the massacre that occurred, the fort is a great look back at the life of early Wyoming. A nice break, easy walking path & a chance to stretch your legs.

We learned a lot about WY history in a casual atmosphere. The staff was helpful and kind. We enjoyed the walk to see the outside buildings and stroll down by the river and bridge.

Very informative about the region and the naming of Casper. Great interpretive center for early life on the western trail.

Stopped here to walk through the fort. We were given a special tour because we ended up coming right before closing. That made it a lot more interesting. There are several fort buildings that have been reconstructed and mimic what life was like in the "wild west." There is also a small museum on the grounds that talks about some Wyoming history, Wyoming during world wars, etc. Inexpensive tour overall and has some great, unusual books available in the gift shop.

Thank Jamie S
