My family of four stayed at the Maison Bouleau in St Nazaire de Laderez for two weeks in September 2015. We love that area, far enough away from the coast to avoid the summer crowds but close enough to be able to go down for a dip in the sea if you fancied.
The Maison Bouleau impressed us very much. We loved its position, the space and facilities, and of course the swimming pool. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. It has been so well designed – one of the best properties we have stayed at in France.
St Nazaire has two restaurants and a small baker’s shop. We particularly enjoyed our meals just down the road at the ‘Aux Acacias’ – very friendly service and superb pizzas. There are several interesting walks from the town, and as you’d expect, lots more in the area. There is a municipal tennis court too, which we were able to use.
We enjoyed looking round Olargues and hired bikes from near there and rode on the former railway line now converted into a footpath and cycle route. Cessenon has marked walks pointing out the history of the town, and Roquebrun has an extensive ‘Jardin Méditerranéen’.
Soooo relaxing, set in a wonderful area for wine, walking, or just lazing about. This was our first stay in this property and loved it so much we are booking again. The House has everything you need for ease. The pool is well situated for early swims, or just mornings tanning, cooling nicely in the late afternoon. St Nazaire de Laderez is well positioned for Carcassone to the west, Beziers to the south, Sete, the coast, Clermont to the north, or more locally St Chinian. The local market on Wednesdays and Sundays is usually well stocked for your fresh vegetables, or Paella, what ever takes your fancy
Since first discovering this house, nestled in the quiet village of St Nazaire de Ladarez ,we have visited several times.
The house has very good facilities yet retains the rustic charm of the original buildings. The swimming pool has been cleverly built within an original stone barn and provides areas of shade and direct sun around the good sized pool. The patio area is ideal for barbeques and eating alfresco.
St Nazaire de Laderez is situated in the heart of the wine growing region offering the opportunity for wine tasting, well signposted walks and good restaurants within easy reach. You can also enjoy the local river Orb for white water rafting and swimming.
We have always hired cars and enjoyed driving in this region as the scenery is glorious and there are many interesting places to visit.
Whether you want a quiet relaxing time enjoying the facilities of the house, an adventurous exploration of the region by car, cycle or foot or in our case a mixture of both this is an ideal choice.
This lovely house was the perfect place to explore the wonderful countryside north of Beziers. Great walking & bird watching within minutes of the village and the Canal du Midi & lovely villages just a short drive away. The pool was wonderful to come back to in the afternoon (or laze around all day..) and the house provided a cool haven on the hottest days. House very well equipped & comfortable beds (best night's sleep ever!). We couldn't have asked for anything more.
Great place to stay, fantastic situation for walking, rural France at its best. A peaceful, relaxing holiday.
