We've both hiked and camped at Tower Hill State Park. We tent camped at a wonderful spot by the Wisconsin river. The camping spot was nice and it was very relaxing, as we sat in our chairs waiting for dinner we could hear the fish jump. I'm not into tent camping but I would do it in a heartbeat, this time with a cot.
There are several trails, one leads you to a shot tower where you can see where they made shot for the civil war. There are remnants of a city that no longer exists and plenty of wildlife to see. Wear some comfy shoes and have bug spray on hand for a great place to camp or hike

This is a small state park with a few camping options.

I would think this is a very popular location during the summer months. Several picnicking areas within the park and there were also several bathrooms scatter about.

We are from Florida and I have to say this was probably the smallest state park I have ever seen. But looked nice.

We had a picnic dinner at Tower Hill State Park. The bugs were awful and that might have been why on a Sunday afternoon we were the only ones there - a group of 9.

Stopped at this park when we were in Spring Green to visit another attraction. When you pay at the entrance - grab a newsletter - it provides good historic information and a map, as the signage in the park is very brief. Climbed to the top of Shot Tower... the exhibit could use a bit of freshening up, they could remove the static video that doesn't work, perhaps add a bit more light. While you're there, say hi to the resident bats. There is a stunning view if you go to the sides of the shot tower - would love to visit this spot in fall. Walked the trails to the tunnel/base of the shot tower, and the newsletter has information about the shot dropping process. Bring bug spray! Public service announcement - if you're going to eat/drink in the park, please bring a trash bag to keep the park clean for others to enjoy!

With only 11 campsites, you want to arrive early to get the best pick. You're right on a Wisconsin River backwater slough for fishing & canoe access. Bass, bluegill & walleye are what we catch there. Checking out the shot tower & tunnel is worthwhile, but there are a lot of steps. Great place for a family get-together for the day; lots of areas available for this. Nice, quiet, relaxing time.
