As an architect of 30+ years, and a longstanding admirer of Frank Lloyd Wright, I have visited the Taliesin East location a number of times. I have also visited many other FLW sites including the Fallingwater location several times in the past. I am always so impressed with the quality of the tours that are given through these architectural landmarks. Whether the tour guide is a young student or an older aficionado, their knowledge and genuine excitement about what they are doing is inspiring. The work of FLW is amazing and pretty much speaks for itself, but having a good tour guide really enhances the whole experience. Walking through his home and studio or Fallingwater or any other project he designed, is an experience that I find profoundly affects lay people who don't really understand what they are experiencing as much as it affects designers and students of Frank Lloyd Wrights work and philosophy. In addition to the overall experience of being there in the space, the added stories and background given by the tour guides and all the people associated with the venue including the gift shop and restaurant and the FLW Foundation, really adds to the whole experience. It is what causes me to return numerous times, to not only see the progress on renovation projects, but to hear new stories from the highly trained and well equipped tour guides in all the FLW facilities. It is very reassuring to me as a student and, dare I say, follower of Frank Lloyd Wright that his work and his legacy is in the hands of such dedicated and loyal people. I highly recommend any of the tours of Taliesin in Spring Green Wisconsin, and any other of the works by the world's greatest architect, Frank Lloyd Wright.
