Our party of 8 adults loved our stay at the Content Retreat. Very large modern home with plenty of room to spread out both inside and out. Had all the creature comforts yet plenty of wildlife to keep you entertained. The location has pros & cons. Being in the heart of St Germain meant plenty to do (shops, restaurants, activities) and access to Big St. Germain Lake through a very narrow channel. Cons, the shoreline is all bog & muck, very very shallow. We had to cancel our pontoon rental for the week because we could not get it into & out of the dock do to shallow water & a muck bottom. Engine sucked in muck & stopped the cooling water from flowing. I was told that the owner has given the go ahead to add an additional 100' of floating dock to reach deeper water as well as add an electrical outlet to charge boat batteries. This is desperately needed in order to have any type of power boat during your stay. If this is done, then you will be able to enjoy power boating (tubing, skiing, etc.) on Lake Content. Anyway, would have been 5 stars if the dock & outlet were already done during our stay. Hiller's is great to work with, very honest hard working people. I highly recommend their services. We hope to re-book Content Retreat, but only if the dock & outlet are installed. Thanks to the owners for allowing us to rent their beautiful property. Good luck in your future retirement (5 yrs away I'm told) and until then we look forward to staying at you little piece of Heaven!
This lake house was cute and cozy from the moment you step in the door. Very clean and spacious, perfect for kids and dogs too! Its in a perfect location for fishing one of the three connected lakes! Plenty of dining choices nearby. The dock is in plenty of weeds, not ideal for swimming, but perfect for fishing! Great views of the lake from the big bay windows!
