Really enjoyed the beautiful new atmosphere, the spa, the Chop House and Brassago. We really enjoyed listening to talented vocalist/pianist Kathy Fry. We have been visiting the Grand Geneva for 20 years and Kathy makes our visit very special!

We have been staying at Grand Geneva for years and always enjoy it. There is lots to do in the area. We enjoy both Geneva Chophouse and Brisaggio. No trip is complete without a visit to Lake Geneva Country Meats for brats and bacon ends as well as Lake Geneva Coffee and Spice for their delicious coffee beans!

Room tip: We love staying in the rooms with a view of the golf course

Thank you for returning to Grand Geneva! We love hearing all of our guest's favorite places to eat and shop. We love that you made time for both Geneva ChopHouse and Ristorante Brissago because otherwise, it's too hard to choose. We love your shopping recommendations too, those are two of the best. Thank you for your continued loyalty, Until next time!

When our cruise was cancelled (pretty much as expected) we were searching for an alternative. Didn't want to spend hours in a car or fly so we narrowed the search to the Lake Geneva area. Booked a standard room in the main lodge. The lodge is a bit of a maze but not impossible to figure out or navigate. If the weather was better the best course is to head outside and avoid all the changes in levels when you're headed to the lobby and pools. Room was marked with an unbroken seal to indicate it had been thoroughly cleaned and it was from all appearances. Quickly found out that housekeeping services were not an option due to the pandemic, but pretty much whatever we needed could be obtained through guest services and were delivered to the room promptly. Hope these services are restored as soon as they can be safely restored. Don't usually dine in hotels so other then knowing the hotel has several venues, can't comment on restaurants. Hotel is minutes away from the shops, restaurants and crowds in town in a beautiful country setting. Hope to visit again when the hotel is restored to the full services eliminated due to the virus. One final comment. On the day of checkout, it seems the housekeeping staff was anxious to have access to the room even though checkout is 11:00am. Probably due to staffing shortages which seem to be everywhere and the need to prepare the room for the incoming weekend guests. We were prepared to leave in advance anyway so this was not a big issue. Just something to be aware of in case anyone prefers to linger.

Room tip: Would recommend asking for a room with a view of the golf course and lakes closer to the lobby.

Our stay was lovely. We arrived an hour before check in and they already had our room ready, but when they discovered that my mom uses a walker, they suggested that they could instead move us to a room closer to the lobby & pool to make it easier for her, which was great. The woman at check-in (Natasha) was exceptionally helpful. We had thought from the photos that the room would seem small, but were pleasantly surprised at how spacious it was. We had a king & paid for the upgrade to have a little sitting area by a fireplace. We stayed in July, but the weather was cool and cloudy, so we actually used the fireplace frequently. It wasn't chilly in the room, but was cool enough to be able to enjoy it. The room also had a mini kitchenette to the side, with a decent sized fridge, although no microwave, plus two barstools at a counter. The shower was lovely with good pressure. I often have trouble sleeping in new spaces, but their beds and down comforters were so lovely that it was easy to sleep. Pillows were quite soft, which was perfect.

We particularly liked the indoor pool, as it had stairs into it so my mom was able to go swimming for the first time in years. Beautiful pool and hot tub area.

We ate at the chophouse the first night and split the vegan dish and the Chilean bass. Both good, but the bass was spectacular. Service was excellent and we loved the bread with little butter & olive tapenade that came with the meal. Beautiful ambience, too. We split the creme brulee cheesecake - excellent. Being from Chicago, we were surprised by the quality for such a reasonable price.

Breakfast was a bit pricy. The first day we received tepid oatmeal, but the second day our server seemed more on the ball & everything was hot. We ate both our lunches at the pool area. All the lunches were outstanding. Chicago has excellent falafel so I wasn't expecting much here, but they had the best falafel I've had - flavorful, crunchy exterior and creamy, moist interior, with fancy tomatoes and a lovely light tziki sauce. We also had the tempura fish tacos - again, better than we expected - definitely made to order. And the green goddess salad which seemed enormous & they definitely didn't skimp on all the goodies (walnuts, fresh slices of parmesan cheese).

My parents, husband and three children stayed in the White River villas. These villas are partially private and partially owned by the Grand Geneva. They are conveniently located quietly down the hill from the play area and spa (near the river). The villas have a lot of nice amenities, and they are definitely a step up from the Timber Lodge condos. I like how they’ve been refurbished and I appreciate the washer and dryer especially. The air conditioning is a huge problem, however. They give you all sorts of tips on how to make these villas cooler, but the reality of the situation is these villas were created for ski season. The upper level is sweltering. This did not deter us completely from the villas, but for the exorbitant price, our family probably should’ve stayed in the main lodge. (interestingly, the lodge has a strict policy that private owners of the White River villas can’t rent them out. So you have lots of owners and their families and dogs, and then folks paying upwards of $1000 a night.)
This wasn’t our first Fourth of July at the GG, and unfortunately it did disappoint a bit. None of the spectacular gardens were in very good shape, and the Fourth of July festivities were pretty understated, with subpar food. However I’m going to give them a bit of a pass on this as everyone is recovering from Covid and it is a tough year for staffing. Ristorante Brissago was as good as we remember and we still had a great deal of fun on the property, including golf, the spa (needs updating) and the water park.
In person, staff was really great. On the phone, staff was really confused. Again I attribute some of the confusion to Covid and new hires. It’s going to take a bit of growing pains, but talking from some of the owners of the villas, things have been steadily improving, and I can’t wait to go back in a year or so and see if the Grand Geneva is back to its full glory.

Your feedback is very important to us, and we want to thank you for taking the time to share this with us. We appreciate your patience as Grand Geneva and the whole industry recovers from the past year.
