Bought a pass and spent the day in the park this past Monday. Not expensive, $11.00 I think for our car for the day. *If you want to just drive through and will not be making any stops, it is free!
Beautiful vistas from both the Shore Road and the Upper Road so make sure you explore both. Not too crowded (although there on Monday) and was easily able to pull of at several different spots, hike a bit and enjoy the sunshine.
There is a restaurant at the Golf Course that we found delicious. Typical burgers/fries/sandwiches but all served in a very nice clean atmosphere with a beautiful view.

Hiked the Sunset Trail today through mostly cedar woods. Wildflowers along the way including Lady Slipper orchids and iris. Peaceful, scenic. Stopped at a detour to the Bay where there was a bench placed for rest and viewing. At the trailhead there is a picnic area and swings. The trail is well marked and wide enough to allow bikes to pass. On another outing we toured the Lighthouse. That was interesting and worth the time. If you’re in Door County take advantage of this park. It’s a treasure.

Earlier this month, my family of four (daughter - 12, daughter - 10, wife, me) tent camped for the first time. We have visited Door County and Peninsula State Park multiple times before, but have never camped. During a visit in December I talked with a park ranger in the office; he suggested Welcker’s Point campground. In the middle of February, I reserved site 567 for 5 nights in early June.

We had a great visit. I am not an experienced camper so take that into account. The sites at Welcker’s Point were relatively spacious and not too close to each other (we drove through a few of the other camp grounds and many felt cramped in comparison). Site 567 was on the far side of the loop on the inside.

As for the facilities, Welcker’s Point has flush toilets and recently updated showers. My wife, who had reservations about this trip, thought the facilities were acceptable (its a state park, not the Ritz). Yes, there are various insects and spiders inside; that’s probably unavoidable. However, each day the restrooms / showers were cleaned around 9 am. We appreciated that attention to daily maintenance and it showed.

Finally, right across Shore Road from the campground is Welcker’s Point day use area; just a short walk away are absolutely gorgeous sunsets. We plan on returning next summer.

We went on a winter hike on New Years Eve Day and absolutely enjoyed ourselves. The trails that were listed as snowshoe trails were accessible to us even though we weren't wearing snow shoes. This place was absolutely gorgeous! With it being winter there were very few people there. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a fun outdoor winter activity.

This is one of the nicest parks we have visited in the state. We have gone there in all seasons. Winter has limited open areas, but where you can go the views were beautiful. Summer is very busy but the park is big enough that you don't feel crowded. The beach area is very well maintained including the rest rooms and showers. In the fall we love to drive the interior of the park for the color viewing. It is beautiful. The shoreline drive and viewing areas give you gorgeous views of the bay and the islands in Green Bay. Overall this is one of our favorite parts of Door County and we will continue to visit year round.
