We booked this cabin for 6 girls in their twenties to stay 2 nights for a lowkey bachelorette weekend. The cabin was stunning from the outside and had beautiful high ceilings on the inside. The property managers lived in the house across the street and said we could come knock on the door at any time if we needed assistance which was nice to know. Everyone said their beds were comfortable and clean which is always a plus. This goes for the bathrooms as well. It is located walking distance from a State park which is where we spent most of our time. We went horseback riding and hiked the trails most of the weekend.
There weren't many negatives about this cabin but I think it is still important to note. The cabin was stocked with paper towels, toilet paper, etc. but thankfully we brought along our own things just in case. The sponge left for us to clean the dishes with was pretty nasty looking. We had to run the warm water in the kitchen for a while to let the dirt pass through. We assumed maybe it hadn't been rented in a while? All of the pots and pans had been cleaned with bleach and had been left with a lot of residue. We were thankful to know they were cleaned but had to clean each one before use to avoid getting bleach in the food. I had all the girls bring their own shower towels just in case but some of us did need to use the ones provided. They carried a very unpleasant smell. We assumed they were not dirty and it was just the smell of the detergent. Please switch!
All of the things we had issues with were very small. We were thankful to have saved so much money getting a cabin for 2 nights rather than multiple hotel rooms which would have cost us a fortune. There was a Food Lion down the street so we bought groceries and cooked in the cabin. A few burners didn't work great but overall did the job.
It's also important to note that there are limited sound barriers in the house. Strangely, we could hear the girls talking downstairs in the first floor bedrooms very clearly from the bedroom on the second floor. We held full conversations through the floor (talking at a regular tone) so if you're a family and hoping to get alone time away from the kids.. not sure this is the place :)
However, we loved it here! We loved it so much that we are thinking about making this an annual trip. The pro's definitely outweigh the cons here.
