Port Townsend Ferry Terminal
Attraction details
Reviewed 28 June 2018 via mobile

The ferry between Coupeville and Port Townsend is, well a ferry. It is drive or walk on and off. Unlike the San Juan Island
routes you pay both ways.

We called "511" yesterday and made reservations. Many didn't and, though the mid-week morning ride to Port Townsend was not full, there was a very long line for the return.

Arrive at the terminal 30 minutes early

We booked the ferry a few weeks before we arrived. We arrived too early for our scheduled time and they were able to fit us on an earlier ferry. The experience was very easy and everything is well marked. The ride was pretty and we were able to enjoy the views from the ferry.

Everything is clearly marked and easy to walk on and off as a walk-on. Currently there is a lot of construction on the main street, and it's very dusty and noisy. But - some day - it'll be all nicely done.

Cost $12.80 to ferry a car across. Thirty minute ride was smooth and without incident. Easy to get on and off. Boat is clean and modern, crew is efficient and knowledgeable.
