Description: This family-owned business has been bringing Bavaria to Leavenworth for over 25 years. The chef, Anita Hamilton, has been personally overseeing the kitchen since 1991 and is a native of Germany. The made-from-scratch desserts, soups and entrees are reminiscent of traditional Gasthaus fare. The owner, Heidi Forchemer, travels to Germany yearly for new menu ideas. Her son, Max, can be heard playing his button accordion most weekends, along with other local musicians, such as Tom Tilton of the Alpenfolk band. It simply doesn't get more authentic than this!

My husband loves this place! Best pigs hocks he has eaten. The meal is huge. Was a little slow for service, but they were busy. Love the Bavarian theme and the booths are so quaint.

PLEASE do not even read the negative reviews. Andreas Keller is BY FAR the best German food (at lease in Washington)! Aaron was a BLAST as a server and the schnitzel was the SCHNITZ !!! DO NOT pass up the opportunity to eat here when in Leavenworth.

We stopped by for lunch. I had the smoked pork chops (Kassler Kottlets) and my husband had the Jagerschnitzel pork with mushroom and sauce “Swiss Style” and both were excellent. This place has a cozy atmosphere with yummy looking desserts. We were too full for dessert maybe next time.

A nice fine for dinner. The restaurant is in the basement of a building in downtown Leavenworth. Parking is available on the street with no charge. The night we were there an accordionist played and sang during the dinner hour. The food was authentic German and very delicious. Although we did not try it the couple next to us had a wonderful looking pretzel that four people could have shared. Great choice of German sausages. The potions we had were very large and more than the wife and I could eat. Good selection of beers. The only possible drawback would be for elderly people would be the stairs that some people might not be able to climb.

This is by far my favorite German restaurant in Leavenworth. If you want a more traditional experience you have to go here. The atmosphere is great - we had fun live music at our last visit. The service is always great and the food is Fabulous. Even my picky kids like eating here. Only drawback is they don't take reservations for small parties so it usually gets crowded and you have to do the wait list option but we still love going there.
