Very friendly staff. Nice gift shop. Had a museum to go thru for a fee. We didn’t choose to tour it. You can see the mountain on a clear day!

The visitors centers were exceptionally well done. Good film with the story and footage of the eruption. Plenty of photo ops.

Mistakenly thought this was best viewing of Mt St Helen - it is 50 minutes further to Johnson Ridge viewing center which is fabulous!! Go there!

I’m glad we stopped here for information and a map of the area. We did not take time to see the exhibits because we arrived late in the day and wanted to get to the Johnston’s Ridge Observatory. This place has many things to offer to all age groups. Next time I will arrive earlier to take advantage of the opportunities.

As has been noted in other reviews, this is not the NP visitor center. It is a state park visitor center. They charge $5 to see their informational movie which was interesting. They have some nice displays and information about the mountain and the 1980 eruption. We intended to go out to the observatory (actually in the NP) but decided not to since the mountain was socked in with clouds. While I enjoyed the state park visitor center, I would have bypassed it on a clear day. Since it wasn't clear, the visitor center gave me some great information and saved me the 60 mile round trip to the observatory.
