Amazing to think this highway was completely destroyed in the May 1980 eruption of Mt St Helens . Beautiful views of the river below and surrounding area . not to be missed

If you're fortunate to come to the area, make sure it is a day that has very few clouds as you have a greater chance to see Mount Saint Helens on the way up Spirit Lake Highway. The views or magnificent around every corner and you can see Lakes, wildlife, and of course the main attraction which is Mount Saint Helens. There are very few businesses along the way so it's best for you to bring anything that you need for a day in the car. My suggestion is that you pack a lunch, snacks, drinks, sunscreen and of course don't forget your camera!

The way the area was rebuilt and replanted was nice. The bridge was a work of art. This whole area is a place that should be seen by everyone. To see the beauty that came out of such devistation is amazing

We drive up the highway just to get out of the house! We can see deer, elk, and other wild critters. The drive is beautiful and you have to stop to see the span over the river! It is gorgeous! It's a nice relaxing drive!

Road was in good shape, scenic drive, couple of nice places to stop along the way. . Just be warned, it is a 50 mile drive on steep, windy roads.
