The room was clean, comfortable and at the end of the day that is my main criteria. An improvement would be to include a recumbent stationary bike in the exercise room and a hand held shower wand in the bathroom. A shower bench would have been nice as the room was supposed to be accessible. We were only here one night and overall were satisfied.

We recently stayed at this Comfort Suites for just one night as we were in town to visit our daughter, who goes to school in Williamsburg. We generally like to get either two separate rooms or a two-bedroom suite, as we have three children. This Comfort Suites fit the bill - it was close to campus and very easily accessible. For a one-night stay, it was fine, but I can't see us staying for longer, for the following reasons ...

1) Most hotels with a two-bedroom suite give you at least 1.5 bathrooms, if not two full bathrooms. This suite had only one full bath, and only one sink. If you think about it - obviously, there will be quite a few people staying in a two-bedroom suite. It would have been nice to at least have a sink area outside of the bathroom, if the hotel couldn't include two full bathrooms.
2) The lights. Or, the lack thereof. Seriously, I've never been in a hotel room with so little lighting. The sitting area in the room with two queen beds, for instance, was its own separate area but had NO LIGHTS. Not a lamp, not an overhead light, nothing. There's definitely room for it though, as the corner by the pull-out sofa is completely empty. It looks like someone stole the floor lamp that belonged there, haha. Same thing in the rest of that room (with two queens) and the other bedroom, with one king bed. No overhead light in either room, and there was only one floor lamp in the king bedroom, so we moved that to the sitting area, which meant we removed the light from that bedroom. Pick your battles, I guess.
3) The lack of furniture is very confusing for this suite. There is a lot of empty space where the hotel could include more lamps (see above) or chairs or drawers or tables. Again, I'm guessing most guests would stay for more than one night, and there would be more than 3-4 people in this suite, so the lack of basic amenities is really confusing. For instance, only two small trash cans for basically three rooms (two bedrooms and a bathroom). Who's been stealing stuff from this place?

The beds themselves were quite comfy, and the hotel is set a ways back from the street so it was nice and quiet. We were there the weekend before Halloween so tons of families and student groups were in town, attending events and festivities at nearby CW and Busch Gardens, but we were fortunate to have been given a room on the top floor as we heard no noise at all. We were surprised to see so many people at breakfast the next morning, especially loud kids. We heard none of them the previous night.

As for breakfast - it is pretty basic. If you want waffles, get there early because the make-your-own waffle station is apparently the most popular feature in the entire hotel. When my husband and I went down for breakfast @ 8 am (early), there were two people in line. When the kids went down later @ 9 am, the line was at least five people deep and they were running out of batter. The other offerings are pretty basic - mass-produced scrambled eggs, sausages, cubed potatoes, bagels, muffins, simple pastries. They had cold cereal too. No hot oatmeal with the fixings, which is what I generally like to have when I stay in hotels of this caliber. Coffee was OK. There seemed to be plenty of seating, even during busy times.

The kids went for a quick swim in the indoor pool in the evening but it is apparently not heated. I don't recall if the website advertised if it was heated or not, but they were out of there in under 30 minutes because it was so cold.

All in all, a decent stay but we probably won't return. However, if we do, I'll be sure to pack my own lamps.

Andre checked us is and was working both evenings we stayed. He was very courteous and professional. Our room turned out to be huge! Much better than expected. With an indoor pool, clean rooms, and free breakfast, this is without a doubt the best “bang for your buck” hotel in the area! We will definitely stay here again!

This modern hotel seemed to be in the perfect location. Golden Corral was within walking distance. There was shopping nearby & a quick trip into Colonial Williamsburg. We stayed 3 nights & were happy with the staff. Everyone seemed friendly. Breakfast was your average breakfast buffet. A little wait time for the waffles on the weekend. Nice pool & weight room. Enjoyed the game room (additional cost). Would stay here again.
