“Fantastic View of the Yarra Valley and an Underwhelming Experience”
Review of Yering Station

Yerling Station Winery is the first vineyard in the Yarra Valley of Victoria with extensive grounds including two restaurants, art gallery and a historic house; along with a fantastic view of the valley from the terrace. The tasting room has an extensive tasting list with the first 5 tastings complimentary, then it is $5.00 p/p. Our server was polite but impersonal resulting in a sterile experience. We purchased a bottle of their 2013 Village Sauvignon Cab, which was excellent.

The journey through the tasting we were taken through was interesting and expansive. The host was extremely helpful in giving us background information and tips on how long to let the wine age before opening based on that seasons crop.

We really enjoyed the estate Chardonnay and were very pleasantly surprised by the dessert wine.

To top it off we had our kids with us. And they were given chalk and asked to draw on the floors nearby keeping them entertained.

Enjoyed our visit to Yering Station. The wine tasting was delightful - each person is allowed to sample 5 different wines each, so you get to try a good range of what they have. The art pieces in the cellar door were a nice touch, really enjoyed the atmosphere. The entire complex at Yering Station is fun to walk around too - make sure you pop over to the historic house (now a hotel) and try to get a peek inside. Was a fun day out!

Incredible wines and professional service. Wines of the highest calibre in particular their pinot noir. Very expensive to buy but worth the trip out to this beautiful historical winery.
