We were visiting the area during spring break with our adult daughters (one is a teacher). We wanted to visit Montpelier and Monticello and many hotels in Charlottesville were sold out so we settled here.
The rooms weren't adjoining but across the hall from each other. Bit disappointed but no big deal. We were told the pool was closed for maintenance but would be open the next day. We didn't think anything of it since we planned to use it after touring. I am an alumnae of UVA and we visited the school, as well as Monticello and some other of the areas' historic sites.
When we got back to the room, the rooms weren't cleaned or made up. They did replace the towels but didn't clean or make the beds. We complained but they couldn't do anything about it.
Also, when we got back, we were told the pool was still closed. We had booked this hotel in part for an indoor pool and hot tub. We were unable to use it at any point.
Part of our problem is that this has been our experience with Choice hotels for the past 3 to 4 years. We have begun staying with another hotel group (though one wasn't available her). So we are not feeling that they want repeat customers at many of these places.
