This was our fifth visit to Villa Violette we think and it never disappoints. Everything was perfect as always. The villa itself is set in a wonderful location with a fantastic view of the Ensenada Sound.....boats coming and going during the day and at night a sky full of stars. It is close to all amenities from the ferry, to the airport, to the supermarket, to the most wonderful beaches, some of which were completely deserted. Brava and Resaca are both well worth the hikes down if you like a beautiful sandy beach to yourself!
For the first time, we rented a golf cart rather than a car. What a great way to see the island! Nothing is too far from the house so we found that we would drive to several different beaches during a day and come home to the lovely restful villa and garden for lunch...Several mornings, we also added early trips to Tamarindo to swim with the turtles. We felt honoured to be allowed to invade their waters and watch them eat and swim. The owners and manager were a pleasure to deal with and very attentive to our needs. Yes, we would definitely recommend this lovely villa as a place to visit and we can't wait for visit No. 6 in the future!

“Perfect place to unwind”

We just spent a week at Villa Viloletta and only recently returned home. It was a wonderful experience for us. The Villa had all that we needed to make the week perfect. Aimee had the place unlocked and ready for our arrival. It was very clean and well stocked, although we ate out most nights, it was great to have a full kitchen available to us. We rented a golf cart to get around and it was not an issue even with rain one day. There are chairs and toys for the beach as well as towels. The W/D was a huge plus as it allowed us to pack less for the trip than we normally do. Plenty of dishes, glasses, pots & pans, as well as coffee filters and paper towels. The only thing I needed from home was soap for the washer, which I had packed with me. We had neighbors above us and heard them only when something had been dropped on the floor and we rarely saw them. So not an issue for privacy at all. Do be prepared for some noisy roosters at all hours of the day and night, but the AC really shut that noise down for us when we went to sleep. It added to the charm of the island for us. They also have a very devoted animal rescue group on the island if you are inclined to make a donation of food or money to them. They feed feral cat colonies all over the island. Being a Pet rescue volunteer myself, I was very impressed with this group. All in all it was a perfect week for us. When we flew back to SJ, where we spent one night before returning to the states, we longed for the solitude and quite of the island! We will be back sooner rather than later. Rich, the owner, is a wonderful person to work with and goes the extra mile to make sure his renter is a happy! Thanks for an awesome vacation.

“A welcome respite”

My friend and I stayed for just over a week.
We loved the apartment which had all the amenities advertised.
The view from the patio was gorgeous; the property was well maintained; the ceiling fans ensured the rooms were cool and comfortable. In fact, it was nearly nirvana.
However, we rented the downstairs apartment and when we moved in, there was a family with small children above. They were very pleasant and did their best, but the sound of running feet from 5am was a definite downer, in fact, that, plus the roosters, barking dogs etc. Made it hard to sleep.
We can't fault Villa Violette for the roosters- endemic throughout the Caribbean , but it night be advisable for the owners to think about carpeting (maybe impossible ?) or not rent the top floor to people with toddlers or small children.
No matter, we had a great week, loved the place, and caught up on out sleep at the lovely Playa Flamenco!

“Perfect Accommodations and Breathtaking Views!”

What an awesome place to stay in Culebra. The view (from either level) is breathtaking - an incredible view of the bay with all the sailboats! The house has EVERYTHING you need - a fully stocked kitchen to cook if you choose. The owner provided two coolers and plenty of beach chairs for my family of 6. Snorkel gear was also available. There is a huge picnic table on the deck which was nice to have meals on. The property is maintained very well - lots of beautiful trees/plants. Top notch! Each room has an air conditioner - however, the breezes at night are perfect and with all the windows opened nobody needed to use the air conditioner. The living room had 2 couches that made it comfortable to relax and watch TV at night. There is a BBQ out on the deck as well. Beach towels were provided which is a huge plus...less to pack! The owner has really thought of everything! The location is in the Clark neighborhood of Culebra - very centrally located. I've read older reviews about the water pressure in the house. We had 6 people showering and never had an issue with hot water or the water pressure. There are chickens and dogs that make noise from time to time - but that is all over the island. My family truly enjoyed our visit at Villa Violette and can't wait until we go back again.

My husband and I rented the upper floor of Villa Violette for a couple of weeks bridging February and March. I can't recommend this place highly enough. The place is extremely clean and the Browns keep it in tip-top shape. They happened to be staying on the lower floor while we were there and were in the process of upgrading the mattresses and asked us repeatedly if there was anything we thought needed improvement. They are down-to-earth, ethical and take excellent care of their property. They have done a lot to upgrade the landscaping and the house and everything is right where you need it. The A/C worked great (and one unit was replaced while we were there!) and we had a really pretty view of the bay from the deck. The house is handsome to drive up to (photos don't quite capture it) and had everything we needed in good working order. It was airy, spacious and very reasonably priced.. It was fun to be in a neighborhood and see children playing in the street. At the same time, we were within an easy walk to several good restaurants and a quick golf cart drive to the beaches. Once inside, we felt very private and secure. The wi-fi generally worked very well and fast but there were a couple of nights it was a little dicey-- probably an island issue. Dealing with Rich Brown was really great-- he is very responsive and fair. I wouldn't stay anywhere else.
