The refurbishment is fabulous. Really well done. Pity the same cannot be said about the food. For years it has been home made and excellent quality, plus it was always good value.
Unfortunately the standard of food is just not good at all now. I had a fairly decent meal of scampi & chips but my wife had the

Shortcrust pastry pie with chunks of prime British beef in our rich Theakston Old Peculier gravy. Served with creamy mashed potato and garden peas.
The mash was inedible & tasted like packet mash (smash) & the pie was something reheated in the microwave, straight out of the tinfoil. The gravy was watery gravy granule stuff. We complained and they took it off the bill straight away, but that's not the point is it?
C'mon Gallows - get back to where you once were.
